How does your game fit the theme?
You play as a lizard (scales on a lizard) and you climb you're way out of a sewage system, in other words. Scaling a sewage system. (its vertical, the lizard was built to scale and scale is a verb.)

Fun game! Had some issues with the linux build being very laggy. The controls were a big weird. W to jump I don't like (pls be space) and also still haven't figured out how to detach from walls, meaning I got stuck on this segment.

Music was chill. Also I really liked the spider enemies. Trying to evade three of them in a row was fun!

What's going on with your thumbnail ?? ahah Some controls are a bit laggy but it was fun and wild to play ahah

Hahaha top marks for creativity. You were definitely thinking outside the box with everything from your interpretation of the word scale to your choice of thumbnail. You made me smile... :)

Um... I couldn't get it to work. Just a screen with the title, and nothing happens.

DRAG AND DROP THE WORD SCALE TO START THE GAME

GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE

Missed the first checkpoint not knowing it was a checkpoint and it's easily ignorable so I got sent back to the beginning which was frustrating. I don't like that you can't just let go of a wall and fall. The mice scurrying around stopped me in my tracks because it looked like an enemy that would reset my progress. But then the spiders actually are enemies, so I don't know what moving sprites I can and cannot trust. And it needs to drop the intro screen's gimmick of dragging a word into place as it does not fit with the theme.

is there anything at all you liked about my game it sounds like you had a horrible experience.

Pretty fun, very creative game (with an absolutely wild choice of thumbnail, but i respect it). I will say that turning mid-air feels pretty sluggish, and the decor blends in with the foreground especially in the earlier segments. The Spiders are the main problem, though, they tend to stick around one particular area since their movement isn't consistent which can lead to you getting stuck and just having to wait a solid minute or two for them to move. I also could not tell what to do with the upwards water, either it needs to be indicated better or it just broke. Still, very fun game, could see it turning into something incredibly special with more time.

this is like my ideal review. I agree, the game did come out half cooked and I wish I had more time to spend on making the game better. I think the part you're talking about is where there is upwards water to the left and there is a little geyser on the floor which shoots you up but the tile map I definitely agree with. The decoration was definitely tooo much but yeah. Thanks for the rating its great. glad you appreciate the thumbnail too took me half an hour.

i like how scale is used as climbing rather than size, very creative
