The game has a really good idea behind it, and i think that you pulled it off well. the pixel art was very cute and charming and i really liked the way the gribbits looked and moved. I was very confused at first and a bit overwhelmed by all the different rooms and repairing things. But once i read the description i got a good idea of how it worked and it worked quite well. Although im still not sure what the things in each room does. Well done
Overall I enjoyed it. Was a little confused about which system resided in each room. Not sure if it was by color but the name of the systems and the room didn't make it obvious.
Also wasn't sure if there was any difficulty scaling. I think for these kind of survive as long as you can games, it's important to gradually ramp up the difficulty and I couldn't tell if that was happening.
Nice concept. Couldn't really understand if it was working, because no matter where I pressed nothing happened. At the beginning I could just click away the grbbits, but then after changing rooms, nothing worked. But overall it looks great and it has potential. Great Job for this game jam!
There is a max number of gibbets you can collect at a time before you need to drop them in the incinerator. I did note this in the game description but ran out of time when it came to adding an indicator in the game UI to help keep track. It's something I'm hoping to add when I revisit the game after the jam is over.
This is a solid game! The controls and mechanics are all intuitive, and it was easy for me to pick up and play. I had fun trying to stay on top of everything, and trying to manage everything at once was a good challenge at first. The main issue with the game is that it becomes a bit too easy after you are able to clear all the rooms for the first time, as you can pretty easily collect the gribbits as they spawn in. An easy solution would be to have the gribbits spawn more quickly over time, which would also give the game a nice difficulty curve. Other than that though, I really liked the gameplay. The visuals and audio were also quite nice, and I liked the distinct design of each room. The only thing that I missed in the UI was some sort of indicator telling the player how many gribbits they could still pick up, but it didn't really affect gameplay in a negative way and I imagine that those kind of features just fell victim to the limited time of the jam. Overall, really nicely done, I had a lot of fun with it!
Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to implement most of the things you said, but as you said, fell victim of the limited time of the jam. I also had a few other ideas I wanted to implement such as a timer of how long you lasted and alternative ways to deal with the gribbits which I may try to add in the future.
This game was pretty fun, the gameplay is solid and I loved all the little rooms! I think the only thing I'd suggest would maybe be like a statistic on the game over screen to show you how long you managed to keep the ship in tact, I think that could add to the replay value a little!
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it greatly. There was an intention to add some kind of indicator to see how long you lasted but I was unable to get it in before the deadline. I also wanted another couple of UI elements to keep count of how many Gibbets you were carrying and whether the repair droid was ready for redeployment but again ran out of time. Might try to add these items on sometime in the future.
This is awesome, as a Star Trek fan I can really appreciate it!! What is more out of control than tribbles?! I mean gribbits *cough* *cough* I love the little starfleet officer falling off the balcony in the background, this game made me smile haha :)
