I love the idea, and had a love hate relationship with the somewhat janky movement of the game ahahaha. Sometimes I feel like my die would end up unaligned with the worlds grid while in tight spots and I got put into a lose lose situation. Nice work!

Developer

Ah, yeah. At first, we tried to make it a 2D game where the die would snap to a grid to avoid the misalignment you speak of. However, we soon realized that making it physics based would be much easier to create. I'm glad you found it enjoyable nonetheless!

I was terrible at this game but i did think it was a really cool idea.

Developer

Thank you! I'm not that great at it either, and to be honest, the second level is way trickier than it should be.

Thoroughly wacky fun time. I noticed sometimes what felt like a strong wind would push me around, unsure if that was intentional, but definitely upped the difficulty in an entertaining way.

Developer

Huh, the "strong wind" might be something with trying to move before the player has fully made contact with the ground. Glad you thought it was just a difficulty increase, and not that unfair.

That makes a lot of sense, it does seem to happen most of all when the dice becomes somewhat misaligned from the grid the dice normally lines up with.

Love the idea, although I wish it were more rigid. There's perhaps too much flexibility in moving & jumping, I often found myself getting in a move during a jump and the height would be based on some other value besides the 6-side I set up.

I very much appreciated the volume slider at zero to start, my ears thank you!

Thank you! We forgot to mention in the game, the die re-rolls every time you jump. This was to make the player have to do some quick thinking (such as with the spike wall in level 5) but I can see how makes it annoying sometimes when you have a plan and the randomness ruins it.

Really cool idea for a game! Works really well and fits the theme perfectly. Only thing I've got to say is that sometimes it feels like air movement is inconsistent, like you sometimes I'll just stop going forward in midair

Developer

Oof, yeah. We grabbed the basic movement script from someone else (Tarodev) and couldn't figure out how to get it consistently working mid-air.

Very fun game the physics is very nice, and it has 5 very well maid levels as well as a fantastic unobtrusive tutorial, I really like the unique movement mechanics of the rolling dice and that the jump height varies depending on the number rolled. 5 Stars out of 5.
