This was a really fun, solid project. I love the variety the player gets up-front, with a very literal adherence to the theme. Mowing down hordes with these randomly configured weapons and upgrades was really cool!
If you're intending to add anything when the assessment period is over, I would love to see more of the randomness while playing as well (maybe give players a choice of random upgrades after they kill a certain number of enemies), and/or some sort of trackable leaderboard so I can compete with other players.
You did a really great job!
Good morning,
I very much appreciate you taking the time to play my game and give feedback - it means a lot, as this is my first gamejam, and the first game I've ever made.
Both of your suggestions are really great ideas, and actually are things I would've loved to include if I had the time. I'll definitely be going back through to work on this after the assessment period!
Thanks again!
I had a lot of fun with this! Probably in part because my first rolled combo of AK + Arrow + Regen felt completely and utterly overpowered. That said, any jam game that I play for longer than a few minutes is surely worth a good rating. Love the presentation too! Fantastic work.
Hey there,
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my game - I'm glad you liked it :-)
There are definitely some loadouts that are waaay better than other lol. Tried to keep it balanced, but some broken stuff is fun, right?
Crazy game. The hordes look really good. I like the variety that the rolling adds to the game. no two games felt the same. Would love to see different enemies.
Nice submission, well done!. after a while it becomes really crazy, trying to create a path to move on the other side of the map, I managed to reach a ~1000 points, but I imagine that based on the weapon the score can be significantly higher :)
Quick note: you did not force the resolution on the unity player settings, so on my 21/10 screen the menu did not look correct :)
Hey, thanks so much for checking my game out! I had no idea that the resolution isn't being forced properly, so that's good to know!
This game is so fun. The art style, the weapons, the abilities. Its just perfect.
The only thing is that I feel like there should be a level system or something that measures progression, other than just endless enemies that build up (and decrease frame rate). I really hope you develop this game further as everything about it is destined for success, it just needs some tuning. Also the controls could be clearer.
If possible could you check out my game? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you so much - that means the world to me. This is literally the first game I've ever made, so I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to check it out.
I'm getting breakfast rn, and I'll be sure to check your game out as soon as I'm back home :-)
The Gameplay itself works well but after a few seconds the game becomes a Slideshow because of the enemies. The stat rolling UI could fit better the rest of the game.
Thanks for checking it out! I had a feeling this might be an issue :-/
I have a fairly powerful computer, so I was able to run things without any problems. Any idea how to go about optimizing something like this?
Maybe Using pre-rendered 2D Sprites for enemies and calculating "AI" for 5 enemies together making them 1 enemy (just for the movement calculation) and then offsetting the values. Also: Maybe your Engine has some kind of "LargeGroup"-Optimizations for Rendering. But I'm not I pro at things like this. These are just some guesses. Maybe make a backup and try different methods and look which enhance performance the most.
