I think the jump needs some "coyote time"(aka ability to jump during some short time just after the player left the floor), it really felt to me all the time that I pressed the jump when I was still on the floor, but jump didn't occur. Apart from that, the game felt pretty fun to me, nice mechanic, also great music track, just the right style to fit the game, wasn't tired of it after dozens of tries, and really cool track in general!
Matching the color with the ground to score is a great game mechanic!
Thank you!!!
lacks a little polish but a other than that a fun game
Thanks! Any thoughts on what could be polished?
Just some visual changes. For example you could change the background to a solid color or some simple skybox and the platforms would look cleaner if they were cubes and the menu ui looks a little unfinished.
This is a really cool game! My one suggestion would be to let the player roll even when they're on a platform. And if you had done this, to entice the player to not always be rolling, you could make it where they could only jump when they have a face of the cube fully facing down. That would be a nice addition to the mechanics of the game. But apart from that, I love the game; great job!
Variable jump height was one of the stretch goals we couldn't get to. We also wanted to let the player roll around while on the platform but that also would've required us to rewrite a bunch of the game. We just didn't have time! Thanks for the feedback!
Trying to rotate the cube to match the color was pretty fun and hard, but after a little bit of playing it did feel kind of boring because it was the same thing over and over again and I wish there was a little bit more to it.
Thanks for the feedback!
Hard!!! I Like The music! Congrats for finish your game!
Very clever concept. Mechanic was fun, but level design was awful. I spent majority of games failing the first jump because the game had not given me time to adjust to the movement mechanics in a safe environment before putting danger in my way. I would have liked to have had 5-6 colors strung together in a row BEFORE forcing me to jump a death pit, to allow me to understand the jump physics, and rotating my cube.
Thanks for the feedback Centripital. I agree that with more time we could have improved on the starting experience. Good thing it's so quick to start the game over!
Good point! We played it so much I undervalued the first player experience. Thanks!
Original concept. And the mechanics are easy to understand but hard to master as it should be. Real cool jam game.
Thank you!
it's a very good idea that's executed very well
i like it!
Thanks so much!!
