Nice, but difficult game on the first try. I'm sure it's a matter of playing a little longer, but at first I definitely felt very overwhelmed by both the amount of stuff happening on the screen and the music that kind of rushed me while playing, adding to the feeling of chaos. Nevertheless, I think the game looks fun and presents a bit of a challenge, which in my opinion is an incentive to keep trying :)

The art and music are very nice and the concept is refreshing =D
While I'm quite bad at this game I still enjoy it and that's something great to accomplish I think^^

A fun little game, though the controls took a bit of getting used to; it's especially confusing to see where you are / where you're going to attack when you only have one guy left. The graphics were nice, and I liked the somewhat bizarre goal of cutting grass even as you mow down dozens of other cats.

When I had only one guy left, it felt like I couldn't get to some of the grass patches; it seemed like I could maybe swap the party positions around, but it wasn't super clear. Also, the time limit was fairly hidden, so when I lost the first time I played, I didn't even know why. Some indication when time is running low might be nice?

Overall, a nice, solid game.

Thanks for the critical feedback and not being an ass about it! Been seeing some rough comments on some friends games recently.

Unfortunately for the jam I stored all the little guys under one collider, so that's why moving around as one was difficult, I'd considered leaving dead bodies moving with the player but it was too awkward, as I flesh out the idea I'll improve solo collisions.

As for the position change I've already made levels that force the player to use them to cut all the grass but alas it was past the deadline.

No worries!

You could make three formation types (based on the number of living party members), which each have their own set of directions and movements, collisions, etc. But that would probably have taken ages to implement, so for a jam game, your method worked fine! Carrying around corpses definitely seems like it would be awkward, so you probably made the right call with your available solutions.

I found some aspect hard to understand. Why was I only attacking in one direction for instance. Why were so many enemies just standing around. It controlled well and the core concept was easy enough to understand but I felt too limited.

I would also ask to please make sure there is a volume control in your game. The music was nice but way too loud and with no simple way to control it overly so in my headphones. The art was also quite good with most parts easy enough to read with good contrast.

Feel free to check out the game I made with a group for this jam too https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-jam-2022/rate/1618446
