Pretty fun but not sure how well it fits the random theme.

Developer (1 edit)

the theme wasn't necessarily being 'random', just 'roll of the dice', so we went with having dice being the weapon type of the main character which can be seen in some of the dialogue. unfortunately, the gameplay ramifications of this just barely didn't make it into this version due to the jam's time constraints, so I understand where you're coming from. along with that, themes that we tried to hit on with the story included concepts of luck/fate of unlucky circumstances. thanks for playing though!

Pretty fun game. Although the story was interesting, I will say there was a lot of text, especially for a game jam game. Maybe next time keep the story shorter. Aside from that, great job!

Developer

thanks for the feedback! valid point for sure, definitely going to take a look at how much we should put in next time around

I loved the story, actually made me care about the characters! The die didn't really seem to have a reason that it had to be a die, would like to know why they give lottery winners a die, maybe its symbolic, or maybe it's the die that decided they won the lottery. The art was cute, especially the little goblin. There were quite a few issues and bugs, but I can tell you ran out of time. Would love to see this game get the polish it deserves!

thank you for playing!

Loved the story you put in there, the simple art style was also a nice touch. the music fit really well too. Overall great work.

Game was good. Yes there could be more monster variety and I also did not understand why am I collecting those boxes.. Is it some kind of score, am I getting some health? I could not see the purporse of it. Other than that, I enjoyed the game. It was fun to play.

thanks for playing! if youre curious, the crates were actually a part of our inventory mechanic that we had to cut in order to finish before the time limit, despite having it mostly done

Love the storyline, simple layout but i got stuck in the level that has "doors with white curtain" cant seem to find a way out from there.

ah sorry to hear that, the door locking system I threw in last minute definitely wasn't ideal, thanks for trying the game though!

Wow, you got a lot done in a small amount of time! I'm not sure if it's just me, but does the player not take damage? You probably already know if that's the case haha, but anyway good job!

Developer

yeah haha, unfortunately in the rush to have something completable we forgot to enable a health system on the player too since we had it off for the dev phase x.x

thank you for playing!

Great game, I had a similar idea with my game. There is a few bugs but overall I like it.

Wow! There's a lot of content here, great work! I can tell it was a really ambitious project, and would have loved to see your full vision of it. Also, if you ever work on it more, I had a few bugs where I got stuck that forced me to reload. Otherwise great!

Developer

thanks for the bug report, glad you enjoyed!
