Interesting idea! I know the feeling of misreading the jam theme, I did that for GMTK 2021... Very intuitive gameplay, and a nice visual style.
Reminds me of a game I played as a kid called DeBlob! Sorry you ran out of time, it seems like it could have been an interesting concept.
First of all, love the word play in the name! The movement controls felt a bit…clumsy? Maybe it has too much inertia or something like that, but I’ve found it almost impossible to play with a rotated camera because of collisions & falling from the platform, so I restarted and played with just WASD and it went fine. Anyway, congrats on your submission!
As mentioned on the project’s page, you can try the web build at https://patrickode.github.io/Roll-the-Dyes/; it’s entirely identical to the downloadable version, WebGL was just unkind and kept the web build from being uploaded on time.
