I think your game has a similar idea as mine. Sadly I couldn't open your file, it gave me an error. I can see from the screenshots that you made something really cool looking with different pictures on the dice and all those symbols on the ground.

Developer

I’m really sorry you couldn’t try it! I’m using my own engine and stuff like this happens from time to time. Could you tell what the exact error was, maybe a screenshot of it?

When I click the executable, a command prompt opens really quickly, writes three lines, the third of which starts with "ERROR" and then it closes immediately. Couldn't see what the error was.

Developer

Thanks, this is probably some problem with OpenGL initialization. I’d wish to ask you for a little further debugging but I don’t feel like I have the right to waste your time :)

I'm sorry I have to work :P otherwise I'd help you

Probably the best version of this I have played. Love the little touches of it showing what was actually underneath the die, and also swapping it up so it isn't just 1-6.

Nice implementation of a similar concept indeed. Super smooth and solid feeling. Very nice touch with the last position being marked ads a lot of insight. I agree the gold mechanic is smart, multiplying the levels and giving some indication. In general nice clean level design as well, maybe one or two where easier then the ones before for me but I guess that could be because of my brain as well. Great work indeed!

My favorite thing about this game is how it doesn't force you to complete the level in a certain number of turns, but it does encourage it. I never felt frustrated thanks to this. The level ordering seems a bit off as I feel some stages should have been moved to later in the game to have a nice difficulty curve. I'm not a fan of the font as it felt harsh to my eyes. I've seen this idea used in a lot of games, even mine, but this was for sure one of the good ones. Nice level designs and the controls felt great and responsive.

Hope this feedback helps! Great work :)

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, you’re not the first telling that this font is a bit off, maybe the time has come to change it.

Interesting and simple idea. However, I find it hard to remember what is on the die faces that I cannot see. So, some sort of indication or rotating camera would be good to have.

this is both the funniest and the easiest rendition of this idea, gj its a lot of fun.

Well made game ! Good idea to use symbols instead of the dice figures to really see on what to focus. I did a similar concept, but only in 2D so we can’t see the other faces. In 3D it is way clearer.

One issue is for some of the levels I had to brute force every single position.

very polished game! the puzzles were cool, and the zen aesthetic and ambience helped to make solving them feel a lot better. i managed to gold awards on 13 levels! while it would be nice to see the entirety of the dice somehow to get a better view, the idea to have the side of the dice on the ground linger on that tile for a while helped to remedy this. well done

Cool game! I got bug, when i hold any arrows to fast move then crash!

Developer

Thanks! Yep, I’ve heard of this bug, couldn’t reproduce it myself though. Would you mind rating the game? :)

Great entry with challenging puzzles!

I really like how you approached the dice mechanic, especially how you show the bottom face of the dice on the last position - a smart solution to missing information. The option to skip levels made the game very accessible too.

Controls, visuals and audio all gave nice feedback, which added a lot to the overall feel of the game. There's a nice progression to the puzzles with some very tough ones towards the end!

I had a lot of fun playing, congrats on a great entry!

I had a similar game idea a while back, but you really took it to another level and made it a real puzzle game. Great job!

Super fun game!! Nothing is more satisfying than the sound you get when you roll over the correct symbol. Really cleaver idea.
