I really enjoyed the concept! Thanks for your entry into the jam!
Mechanics and art were good, but it was very uncomfortable to play it without sound. It was also a little confusing without an explanation of the mechanics. I don't think it's that into the theme of the jam, but I've seen more than one tower defense in here. Wish you had uploaded a thumbnail for your game even if it was just a screenshot of it, before clicking on the game I thought it wouldn't even be playable due to it not having a thumb. Overall solid work, with a little more polishing it would be great!
Thank you! I do agree that we need a lot of polish and definitely a thumbnail. Overall I did not spent too much time on it so we did not have enough time to implement all of these things, even though I wish we did!
I know another review said this, but it feels so empty without any form of sound. I would recommend freesound.org for sound effects as sound can really improve an environment. Also the viewport gets a bit messed up due to the camera not expanding with the window so playing on a 16:9 ratio monitor looks a bit strange around the edges where it goes to grey. The theme is only really in the towers getting bigger and the gameplay gets pretty boring once you've built 5 towers and saved up to upgrade them all due to the towers being too good at defending the building too early on so there's no sense of challenge or skill but you don't get infinite floods of money either so you just sit there, waiting.
took me a while to realize that u can upgrade the laser maybe u should consider adding game tips or something could have also added a lil shooting sound i know music composing and sfx is very hard but overall mechanics were fun and the art was decent!
Thank you! If we decide to develop this further we'll definitely take your feedback. Unfortunately our composer left early on in the jam and we didn't have an SFX artist so we didn't bother with sound.
