I think it would be nice if the rope shot out at a slower speed and connected even if it collided with a point even on the middle "rope" portion. Nice little game though! The death sound was a hilarious surprise!
Like others said - a bit hard to control, but the game is nice!
Thanks! I'll improve on the difficulty after the jam. Stay tuned!
I like the concept of the game, as well as the simplicity of the controls. The graphics are also pretty cute :)
I personally found it really difficult though, especially due to the length of the rope and the small size of the nodes. Maybe adjust one of those?
For this kind of game where you might mess up to the point where it's unfixable, I suggest having a reset button. Also more sound! I like the "Nooooo" part, but more sfx and music in general would add to the atmosphere.
I definitely want to see this expanded!
Thanks! Yeah, I didn't playtest it enough and the difficulty turned harder than it should. i thought about a pause menu with a reset button too, but the lack of time and experience didn't allow me to put it. I'm making changes and I'll update it after the jam, though. The nooo sound was the only one I had time to put lol
Cool idea, but really hard!
Thanks! I'll lower the difficulty after the jam
Neat idea. I liked using the strategy of launching myself upwards by releasing the rope to gain a bit of upward progress, but usually I wasn't able to keep going. But it was fun to try!
I agree with other comments that it's a bit hard to aim. But it was satisfying when I finally got a rope to connect.
Nice entry
That's the same strategy I was using, even though it's a little risky. Thanks for the comment!
NOOOOOOO!! That was a good game! With some more polish this could be really great! Looking down at the other comments it looks like you're already working on that, like increasing the hitbox size. Great work!
Thank you! I'm already working on improvements, stay tuned!
I like the idea and it is well executed! I agree with some others here that it is a little too hard to aim consistently and that maybe you should make the hitboxes a little bigger, but that's really just a tiny criticism. It is a great game and very fun!!
Also: Love the "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO", really expresses the feeling you get when you are almost at the top and then fall all the way down
Thank you! I've changed the hitbox size and it really helps, as soon as the jam's over I'll update it. The "nooo" sound was the result of me trying to get to the top lol
Great game! I think I may just be really bad at it haha. Maybe the hitbox for the rope could be a little bigger so people like me can climb more than a few levels :)
Thanks! I'm already working on some changes considering the difficulty feedback, as soon as the jam is over I'm adding them.
Very fun, but also very frustrating. I agree with others that the arms are in wierd angles, but I think it fit's the style of the game. You could elaborate by changing the size of the dots and adding many more mechanics which would make this game full of polish!
Thanks for the feedback! I didn't think about changing the actual size of the dots, I'll try that!
i like the idea but the controls don't fit the Bill
Could you elaborate more on the controls?
yes i can its a pain to connect to points. the angle is off (the arms are angled a weird way) and makes it hard to aim. but i do really like the game i could spend a while playing it tbh
Thanks! I thought about increasing the area of the circles to make it easier. I'll make some changes and experiment with the angle after the voting period is over.
