Yaaay some metal in a jam game :)
I commented on the game page but forgot to rate here (so now thatโs done)
Fun idea, not sure it is very nomad but itโs original to have a top-down action game with rhythm mechanics.
Btw I played your game on stream ( https://www.twitch.tv/videos/878547511 around 2:05:00 ). If you participate to next GWJ I can also play your next game on stream!
Also youโll be able to see the performance drops. Maybe itโs because of Firefox, I have a pretty beefy computer.
Thanks for playing on stream, awesome to see someone play and reason about it! I can tell you it was not the pathfinding though ๐
Rock on!

ROCK ON! ๐๐ค
Haha, this was fun, but I feel like I have better success in Necrodancer than in this game... I didn't die once though, but I meant in keeping the rhythm. Quite a bit of slowdown on the final level, but I can imagine it's due to the amount of enemies being triggered...
Loved the final screen... Haha definitely gave me a chuckle.
I think there is some code that is executed very inefficiently ๐ Good to hear you could still laugh with the situation, haha. Thanks for playing and the feedback!
Nice game and soundtrack :) It is a little hectic sometimes, dodging enemies and stay in rhythm but overall fun experience. I too experienced some framerate problems when there were more than 3 enemies on the screen.
Please consider rating my game too. :D
Thanks for playing and providing feedback, ROCK ON! ๐ค
Man, that one got me frustrated :D Didn't know I was so out of rhythm. Very fun, enjoyed it very much. The devils would get stuck sometimes but it wasn't a big problem overall :)
Edit: Also I have to mention there were some framerate problems in the third level when there were many enemies on screen at once.
Hehehe, we learn from our frustrations ๐ Yeah I thought that having random enemy sizes would outweigh the negatives of monsters getting stuck sometimes, Iโm still not certain what the right choice would be ๐ Thanks for playing and providing feedback!
Really enjoyed it, the shooting felt good and the demon blood splats were cool. The shot went well with the song, but was a bit repetitive, maybe there could be different riffs to play? Could become a very good rhythm game if more songs and complexity were added. Very impressive that it was completed in a week end. Maybe the demons and background could move with the song to make them more lively. Good luck with your other project!
Thanks for playing and providing feedback! ๐ Yeah the self-imposed limitation of making it in one weekend did limit the scope a bit. Originally I also wanted to include solos, where a giant laser beam would blast out of your guitar, multiple songs and rhythms and even a musical end boss. But hey, it is what it is ๐ Will definitely keep your suggestions in mind!
We played the game several times through the jam as it was submitted so quickly. We loved it! Cheers.
Thanks for playing multiple times ๐ฎ
Very creative! Enjoyed trying to attack to the the rhythm. Graphics and audio fit the style of the game.
Nice voice acting!
Thanks Jonas, ROCK ON! ๐
Iโm not great at rhythm games so I found the core mechanic quite challenging. I like the audio, and style!
I was afraid people who are bad at rhythm would not like it. Good to hear you appreciated the other aspects of the game, thanks for playing! ๐
hahaha the animations were wonderful! Very nicely done.
Thank you! ๐๐ค
