What a wonderful little game!  So spooky!  The lighting and sound were great, and I learned a lot from how simply (yet well) you did everything.

I only wish I had reviewed this during the game jam...c'est la vie.

Could you make the code available?  I'd love to play around with this...

I agree with all the other comments so far. Unfortunately I wasn't able to complete the game because I am not very skilled. Lack of checkpoints was very frustrating for a frequent dier like me.

Developer

I could try to reduce the difficulty :)

Well done!

In my opinion the walking/running was a bit slow. This also made jumping up the platforms a bit hard. Otherwise the controls where easy to use.

The Art and Sound worked really well together. And I loved the lighting effects (especially the flashlight) and the particles around the projectiles!!

The art is great and together with the soundtrack it does create a nice spooky atmosphere. Well done. Jumping from to platform to platform was a bit annoying to me as I kept bumping my head against another platform. And the text explaining the controls in the main menu is a bit difficult (at least for my eyes) to read. But these are small gripes.

Thanks for the comment!
I will build a one way collision into the platforms after the jam is over!

I liked the concept and its actually somewhat scary, which is hard for a 2d game to accomplish. I would darken the area where you "cant" see a bit more though. The mechanics work well and the sound is good. I would expand it more, as it seemed a bit short, but other than that it was good!

Thanks! I plan to improve some stuff.

Very spooky and atmospheric. Really love the lighting and sound design.

Developer

I am glad you like it!

This was fun. I think with more time you could have made a really nice game. Only thing that was maybe a little too tough for me was reacting in time to the monsters - would have liked to have had a little more lead-time to them showing up and attacking at first, or maybe they pause and don't chase right away. The sfx for their voices were awesome.

Thanks! I plan to build more things in to the game an to improve some stuff.
