Keep plants alive in the rain

How does your game tie into the theme?
I used the "rain" part of the theme, and took it very literally

The rain isn't animating for me too. I'm using Google Chrome with Windows 11, just to let you know.

It's a nice and simple game, the art fits perfectly into the gameplay. I did notice that the BGM just stops after one play, so it gets a bit lonely with just the rain sounds afterwards hahaha

Biggest issue is definitely the lack of instructions/tutorials, I had to take some retries to understand what do I need to do.

Great work on the game!

thanks for the info! i definitely think i'll need to get a windows machine to test on if i do another of these (or avoid gpu particles, seems like all the issues are tied to those)

i just checked the bgm and looks like that's not a bug, i just forgot to set the loop mode 🤦

thanks for playing!

A bit tricky to master, but fun enough. :) Dealing with more than 4 flowers was very challenging, but I've managed to go a bit far. Also the use of the wind adds a good twist! The art is lovely, although I had difficulties seeing the water drops properly. But overall it was a nice experience.

Thanks for playing!

The gameplay loop was very fun once I got the hang of it! The UI and animations are very clean, and I really love how the score is presented as flowers.

Understanding the mechanics took me a while.  I think animating the rain would go a long way in teaching the mechanic visually.

thanks! was the rain not animated for you? i did notice a bit too late that the gpu particles have rendering issues in browser on apple silicon, would u mind adding what browser & operating system u use?

Nice submission, congrats! I loved how a simple task like "keep the plants alive" could turn so difficult, especially when you have two umbrellas and five plants to manage in your little garden! :P

Even if the assets were not original, I think you did a great job in creating the scene: the transitions and the animations were polished and smooth (look at those plants swinging in the wind!). The gameplay is simple in theory, but it has a lot of variables and mechanics (different kind of plants, wind direction, new plants added periodically) which avoid the risk of repetitiveness.

If I may, the objective of the game is not clear at the beginning: I was confused by the progress bars going left and right, and I couldn't understand why some plants were disappearing. It took me a while, but in the end I was playing a nice game :)

thanks! choosing to stick with the textless wildcard probably wasn't my best idea, i did mean to implement a short tutorial, but ended up being super busy during the week so that got cut ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
