I understood the game by reading the messages and looking at the gif. First, you have to cut the rope by pressing the left mouse button and making a slashing motion from left to right on the rope. Then you have to make a similar motion from bottom to top to activate the wind and make the character rise into the sky. What I don't know is how to regulate the strength of the wind so that the character goes higher each time.

Thanks for playing. The power of the wind is depend on your attributes (max speed, wind power or force, wind length) and how long you drag the mouse cursor.

Nice graphics, and sounds, I take a while figuring out what to do, It’s a hard one, I tried a lot but I couldn’t get to the to the top.

Developer

Thanks for playing. The total distance is 25km. I wanted to add a visual indicator showing your progress but time limited this.

Art looks quite nice and clean. Sfx sounds cool.

But... I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. All I managed to figure out was that when I cut nothing else happens, and when I wind there's a laugh and wind sound and I lose with 0 souls.

Would love to give it another go, if I get some guidance how to play :)

Developer

Thanks for playing and glad you liked the art.

I added a quick gif that should help explain, click and drag left to right for cutting the chain.

Then click and drag down to up to make the wind blow.

Hope this helps, once you get some soul coins you can upgrade your abilities.

Thanks for the tip.

I checked it out again, cool game now that I know how to play :) Nice, clean UI and sound effects.

I focused on gravity upgrades and managed to get to over 2000m with two wind upgrades. The game speeds up after a few upgrades.

One problem I encountered: If you cut rope and then do wind somewhere above so that your character does not move at all, the game gets stuck and you have to restart manually. This does not happen if you do wind without cutting (then you get "retry" screen with "you got 0 souls").

I played this for way too long lol

Its very simple but it was so close to being amazing, if only the controls were a little more pleasant and the graphics.. uhm existed. But even so, I played this to around 13k height and it was actually pretty fun to think about strategies how to fly further :)

Thanks for playing, you made it just past halfway BTW.

Yeah I wanted to add a feature that shows what your line looks like which would help with the controls.

Regarding the art... Yeah my kids made most of it, wanted to encourage them to try game development and wanted to take a break from grabbing others assets.

Haha, nice. I definitely appreciated the surreal and minimalistic artstyle more than just an asset flip. And the experience of making something like those assets and actually seeing it implemented in a full game is definitely very cool and valuable :)
