Really nice artwork! Did you make it all for the jam? The music fits well, too. Gameplay wise, the combat system was very functional. I did experience some of the issues the other players did, but I was still able to complete the game. One I haven't seen mentioned was the UI sometimes being unresponsive when selecting an attack target (specifically, not moving the marker when I expect). All my cat names turned to "testing" in the final battle, too. Everything else felt pretty polished.

I'm impressed by the amount of work accomplished. Congrats to the team of two!

I have much more to say, but alas...

Yes! Made all the artwork for the jam and was my main focus. I’ve been trying to get better and making art assets and was proud of what we managed to pull off. Yeah we definitely noticed all of that too and have some lessons learned for more play testing before the deadline. Thanks for all the feedback! We’ve already got all of that resolved and prepped for update after the voting period ends :)

A competently made pokemon-like game.

...

Sorry, that's all I have to say.

An awesome game that just made it 9 days, really well polish. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Appreciate you giving it a play :)

This is very impressive for the short amount of time of the jam. Well done!

Only thing I would like to point out is that it was a little frustrating not being able to cancel an attack in case of miss-press.

Oh, and also getting repeated cat names confused me a little. I got a "gold" cat named Mango, when I went back to equip it I thought the game had bugged since the Mango I found was "silver". After looking everywhere in the house I found the gold one, but it had me confused for a while.

Overall, very nice job!

Thank you! Yeah cancelling an attack was something we just didn't end up having time to implement, but I love the idea! Also yes the cat names would be good to check so you don't get those duplicate names. Thank you for the feedback and we're so happy you enjoyed :)

I immediately fell in love with your game! It’s everything: the visuals, the music, the gameplay - absolutely gorgeous. I wish there were a way to save my battle cat’s brigade, as I think I found a way to max the stats rather quickly. If you win the fight but leave one rat in low health, it goes into defense mode for many turns. So you can choose “Special” many times and boost your attack to 40-60 :)

Thank you very much for the game, it was very enjoyable to play!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! Really really happy you found it enjoyable! I totally do the same thing to just boost the stats waiting for the mice to attack when they're deciding to defend a lot.

You guys are crazy lol

Was a fun and interesting little entry. Almost gave up after leaving through the northeast exit. But then I realized there was suppose to be 1 other place too. Found the basement and slayed some rats. A TBS is no easy task. Congrats to you both for managing to even finish in time.

The art was solid. And the mechanics seemed to work for the most part. These sort of games can require an abnormally high degree of balancing, in my opinion.

Well done just the same! ^^

Developer

Thank you!! Yes balancing is something we wish we had more time to do and a lesson learned for next time. We're just happy we managed to get this over the finish line. Thanks for playing!

Turned based JRPG in a week?? Loved what you did! Pixel art is really cool, and I enjoyed the turned based combat. Maybe I'm just awful at this, but I found the rats a little too strong? Other than that, I enjoyed collecting more cats haha

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Yeah sometimes it really just depends on the RNG and what cats you end up with early on. We're so happy you enjoyed :)

Oh wow a JRPG in a week, that is insane amount of work. Is all the assets original? I couldn't find where the credit are so I don't know who makes what. But if you guys produced all the contents by yourself, that is extremely impressive. I love the pixel art and I truly feels like a cat lady collecting the cats.  A really decent length game with a neat boss at the end. Good variety of music tracks. If I need to nick pick,  Granny walks a little slow for me. And I wish to have the option to run away from fights and to cancel a command if I accidentally select the wrong one. Overall, really good take on the theme and incredible amount of content. :)

Thank you so much! I should probably add the credits to the itch page. We were in crunch mode until 5 min before the deadline 😅. Yes, all art assets are original and done by me. The music and audio are the only thing not original.

Thank you so much! We had a blast making it and I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Really good tips and something we will probably add after the voting period ends.

Edit: I just added the credits, thank you for mentioning that!
