I didn't play to the end, but what I did play was fun! This is a very interesting concept you have, and it does so much right! It took me a bit to figure out how to focus the mirrors correctly at the beginning, I ended up accidentally making a second mirror and it got it the way a bit. Once I figured it out though, things went more smoothly. Awesome job!

Thank you very much! And thank you for letting me know where you had a hitch, I'm really working to improve the onboarding experience.

Great concept and polished execution, but man, do I get frustrated playing this. It's not the most intuitive to me, so the time difference between making a decision on what to do/mine next and actually succeeding in doing that is huge. Otherwise, great production, and good job.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm sorry that the game frustrated you. The game clicks for some people, and it doesn't for others, so I'm trying to research how to improve my tutorials and my readability right now so that it can click for everyone. Do you think pictures of example setups would have helped better? Or was it a different issue?

Submitted

Oh yes, example setups, with images, to start out from would be good. Like the 2 lens one, hinted in one of the pages. I think my main frustration which could be simply addressed, is knowing how close I am to mining a block! A simple meter showing you how much of the beam is focused on the block and how much is going elsewhere.

Thanks

Developer

That's a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion!

Very fun, the game I have played the most so far, very accurate optics/laser physics, its nice to chain up lenses and make a powerfull laser, the more upgrades the funniest, the only thing that bothered me was the blue laser, but after I started digging on the blue side it was easier and I ended up "controlling" both lasers at one which felt great, good job!

Thank you very much for the kind words! I hope to make the tractor beam a little bit easier to use in the future, as it definitely can be a little annoying right now (oops).

Why get 20 if I can get it all? MWAHAHA! Anyway... Nice game, very fun, congrats! I found a little bug midway through the game, my window got all red while I adjust the focus of the lens.

Developer

Thanks for playing, and thanks for the bug report! That's a real mysterious one, haven't seen it before. Guess I've got an investigation to make!

Reminds me a lot of Dome Keeper! Great game, very interesting stuff! This is definitely a puzzle game that could have legs, as in it could be significantly improved and sold if you were up for it!

Thank you very much for your kind words! I really love the concept of this game, so I definitely want to see how far I can push it.

This one is a top contender! I had a buddy hop in with me to pull me away to play Deceive Inc. but the both of us ended up playing this to the win screen. That's a huge win in the fun book for something as mind bending as complex laser dynamics.

I think ultimately, digging in-and-of itself is a satisfying activity. Minecraft, Space Engineers, and all the clones in between are successful for it because the problems come naturally, and you really do think about how to solve them (life before stone-breaking was painful).

This is a likely candidate for top prize. Well done, sir! Well done, indeed!

Thank you so much, that's very kind of you! I'm just really glad that people are enjoying the game, and it's so gratifying to hear that the game is making something which seems unapproachable fun to play around with! This really meant a lot to me, thank you.

This game is really cool. Played it for more than an hour. The best game jam game I've played so far.
