Didn't quite understand the overload mechanic, do I die if I overload?

Anyway the art and music are really good and I'd like to see a full release!

good luck :)

This one will require a different approach to normal evaluation.

To start, you can feel how the music gets out of sync with the attacks. To rectify this, you will want to learn about AnimationPlayer, as it can maintain a perfect rhythm.

Having a Godot Icon, a solid purple background, and unstylized information tells me that assets really held you back. It may be in your interest to either work with asset packs or join a team. I'll always recommend joining a team, as it allows you develop your specialty. If you plan to be a generalist, however, the solo dev path is still correct.

Do not Despair, for this is all a part of the learning process. Continue to Jam, and you will grow.

Nice idea to combine music and actions in the game. But I wish controls would be easier, for example attack could be on keyboard instead of a mouse. The object in center could use the original sprite for appearence

It is impossible (for me) to win because you need to be near the enemy to attack it, but when you standing near enemy it attacks you and you can't dodge. Maybe make projectiles ricochet when you hit em?

The mechanics are interesting but could be better developed. lowering the attack speed and hitboxes could make the game more enjoyable. Good job on the music part

Solid framework for the game design you're going for. Although it's way too difficult for me. Maybe only dashes should count for overloading, because when I did about 30% damage to the boss with normal attacks, I had to run away for a long time just to cooldown again so I could keep attacking. And by that point the boss was attacking so much I could barely get into range again.

The sound and music was cool though! It seemed like the boss attacks were generating the beats. Nice job on your first game in godot!

yeah, I left the boss design until the last 2 hours of the jam so i didn't have time to balance it or make it fair. I spent a lot of time making features for the player that i would later drop because it didn't work with the game. It was a good learning experience though. Thanks for playing!

OK. Good first game. Is it winnable?
