Game Description
Novice Wizard who tries his best to not fall asleep by using all his energy

How does your game tie into the theme?
The Unintended Consequences are mainly in the gameplay. You think you will teleport, but you teleport the enemies or you want to rest but you get to close and burn yourself

Great job on your first jam/game! It's really impressive that you did the art and sound and gameplay all in a week ad a solo dev.

One note– The text was quite tiny and hard to read.

Hope you're proud!

The rest mechanics are interesting.
I don’t get how to prevent sleep by going to rest, I sometimes do rest, but I still fall asleep.
Nice soundtrack

There’s really something to be proud of for a first game jam!

I really liked the Diablo-style power management.

The power of running left me confused, but it still came in handy!

I hope this first game jam will give you the desire to continue!

I really like the art style of this! the abilities are fun to use, but the dash is very unpredictable.. maybe that was part of the theme implementation, but I stopped using it since it would get me stuck or send me directly into enemies.

congrats on your first jam! the game is really solid for the first attempt,  i really liked the pixelart!
tho it was a little confusing to navigate around, sometimes i got stuck near a wall or there wasnt a response when move button was pressed

Developer

Oh this is a first time I am hearing about it. I knew the dash would get you stuck in the wall sometimes, but not the fact that sometimes there was not a response for the movement. Darn it

Thanks for the feedback !

Great work for your first jam! The art is very good. The game definitely needs a rebalance imo. Campfires are effectively useless because you never know if they'll blow up on you and wipe out the rest of your energy. The best strategy seems to be sticking around the tent and spamming E since every time you enter the tent, you gain a little energy. I was able to face tank enemies and stay topped off this way lol.

Good luck to you as you continue your gamedev journey!

Yes thanks, its crazy how much play testing you need to know about game balancing and also coding errors like the tent spamming one.

Thanks for the feedback,
Wish you the best in your journey too !

Interesting game. Getting hit, and hitting enemies could use some oomph. Campfires don't feel impactful enough,  camping the tents seems more beneficial and easier.

Developer

I do agreed with you, campfires was the first intractable object I made and to be honest it didnt really change since day 1.. oops
Camping the tent was a part of the gameplay I wanted, but fault of time I wanted them to be destroy and you could have been able to repair it or something.
But yes thanks for the feedback !
