I got really stoked when I saw the trailer, thought it would be a kind of a sexist twist where the woman becomes the man of the house. But damn, the radio pissed me off in the game (so well done?). When gathering the ingredients it would be nice if there was an UI that notified the player how to interact, if only just at the start of the game. Because there isn't any button that gives the player the option to go back to the menu. Honest to God I really wanted to play more but I had to start the game over (three times) because I couldn't get the mayo fall down properly, in the end I couldn't interact with the object. Sooo... that probably needs a check up! Not sure how the game actually ends but it's giving a bad vibe in 2020 if the first quest is to make a sandwich even when the purpose is supposed to be ironic.
Supercool!
Graphics wise, it's looking pretty solid. The colorscheme and lighting goes well with eachother. I really like the player character, very different from the usual. I really like the "dollhouse" aesthetic. The game ended abruptly for me after some time, but I assume it was the ending since it pulled me back to the menu screen. The voiceacting is alright, it really makes you disslike the narrator and gives you a good idea of the world the character is living in. The soundeffects really need to be adjusted, they are way to loud.
As this looks like a work in progress, but i can saflely say it's a great start!
I really like the visuals! Tho the Woman can look a bit creepy. (Therefore the horror tag?)
I also encountered a glitch where leaving the refrigerator i just fell throught the floor.
The radio was a clever idea of a narratorand it would be nice to have some music from it, to further make it feels like the 50's.
Great work! Really looking forward to where this is going.
I really love the art style! I wish I had more to enjoy! The trailer makes me think there is ganna be some twisted stuff going on soon and I want to see it!
The audio from the radio was super well done! The art really did make it feel like an old 50's american dream style game. Great job! :) Would love to experience more in the world!
Great 3D graphic and style that sets the mood of the game directy. The animations of the character and radio was vivid and smooth. I was missing more sound effects and music, to give me more audio feedback when playing. And was sa little confused over who ate my sandwich. Creative and immersive when getting sucked into the fridge and amazing how the food items looked when yourself is so tiny. Pulling, pushing and jumping mechanics works well. Good job!
It says it's a horror game but I don't think being a woman is that scary. I think I was meant to make a sandwich but I couldn't pick up the mayo, not sure why. The game has no sound, i'm not sure if it was supposed to but it would probably improve the experience.
The control didn't work other than opening the fridge and jumping into it. There was no music (at least for me) though I heard the radio when entering the kitchen. Not sure if these are bugs hence why I mentioned them.
Positives:
- The kitchen looked nice with the colors.
- The character was nicely designed visually, though I did think her expression was a little creepy looking haha.
- I really liked the idea of having the huge recipe book in the kitchen and the radio talk to you.
- There were no windows! It adds to the feeling of being trapped/in a jail.
- The radio's role was probably my favorite detail. Not only as a vital part of society back then but also radio = media kinda.
Negatives:
- The controls were not working and the lack of music as stated above.
- The... house didn't feel like an actual house. I don't see the thoughts behind making the house like this. It felt more like a set at a movie. Architecture would be important in a game themed around escaping an oppressive house. Maybe make the walls looming with? Putting the kitchen close to the lady's bedroom too and away from the fun things - indicating her role in the household.
- I think the white light added to making it look like a movie set. Maybe change the color?
- A lot of the props were REALLY big too. That might've been on purpose but I couldn't understand why while playing.
I managed to get the ingredients (I think) but couldn't do anything with them.
There are some interesting concepts here, but you look to have run out of time before you could do much with them.
I was hoping that wall clock was going to move...
Why are there 6 ratings at the current time when there are no builds? I am really curious. Is the build somewhere else? :( I really want to play the game so I hope you are going to upload soon!
We are currently working on a functional build, it will be available tomorrow (02/06/2020). Thank you for showing interest in our game!
