I didn't exactly play this but I saw Hawk play this on stream and I gotta say, this is legit a nightmare world I didn't want to be in. This is a good thing though. A lot of horror is trying to make people uncomfortable and the first part of the game did just that. As a bisexual woman, I felt pained for Clarence during his conversion therapy even though I haven't had any of the horrors happen to me in my Catholic upbringing. Sometimes the worst type of horror doesn't need a scream but a whimper and a *not intended to be like this* prayer that this is all over and you can be yourself. I made sure to rate you high over this.
This was amazing, both in how disheartening and in how accurate you were in how this sort of theme was dealt with. I rarely enjoy VNs but this one really got to me. You did a very good job, and I'm not even sure I HAVE anything negative to say about it. The characters were relatable (even the cruel ones) and the writing was great. The implications of what happened to the MC really tugged at me, because he wasn't the only person affected negatively by what was going on. Keep it up, Limin.
IT WAS A PREQUEL!!
Ok, this was pretty awesome, if not dark and depressing. The way it ties into your other game is pretty impressive, and I felt the story was very well-written. My only real complaint is that THERE WASN'T A HAPPY ENDING. Seriously, though: I kinda felt the mini game for the candles was unnecessary, but not in a bad way, just that it felt a little out of place in what was otherwise a visual novel with walking. But wow, this really was super well done and tragic.
Amazing art and sounds!! well done
A very short, but disheartening ending for the MC, which to my understanding leads into your other games.
Body horror is close since it features a loss of autonomy and great googly moogly was that a gut punch to see. The story encapsulated very well the hypocrisy of the MC's community doing whatever they pleased if it fit what ever they needed, provided they obscured it first.
The only real critique I have is the candles, as the minigame for them is a little slow, save for one that felt like it was at a more appropriate speed (bottom left of the lower six candles I believe). Granted, I do understand that the MC would be in no rush to light those candles.
