Which Theme(s)/Horror Genre(s) did you use for your game?
Here’s how Pig's Last Laugh fits into multiple horror themes for the jam: Slasher: Your game shares the relentless, cat-and-mouse dynamic of slasher horror. Like Friday the 13th, the player is constantly stalked by a brutal, masked killer (the Pigman), who ruthlessly hunts them down and tortures them upon capture. The game captures the intense fear of being pursued by an unstoppable force in a confined setting. Creature Feature: The Pigman, with his grotesque pig mask and distorted physique, embodies the "creature" aspect of horror. His unnerving appearance and primal brutality bring out the monstrous, animalistic fear seen in films like The Blob or Aliens. Biological Horror: The game’s gory, body-focused violence, with its extreme torture and bloodshed, aligns with body horror. The mutilation and physical degradation in the game evoke the disturbing imagery of biological horror, emphasizing how fragile the human body is in the hands of a deranged killer. B-Movie: With its over-the-top gore, campy sense of humor (the killer’s maniacal laugh, grotesque pig mask), and a villain reminiscent of Professor Pyg, the game embraces the B-Movie aesthetic. It plays with slasher tropes and turns them up to eleven, delivering a deliberately exaggerated experience. Supernatural: There’s an eerie, almost supernatural quality to the Pigman’s endless pursuit, creating an atmosphere where it feels like escape might be impossible, no matter how hard the player tries. The house, filled with blood-soaked traps and dark secrets, adds to the ghostly dread.

Concept was really cool, but the bugs and sound design choices kind of really set this one back. I finally managed to get everything to the van on the final day, but when I tossed in the last piece, it got stuck and I couldn't pick it back up again, and the game wouldn't let me continue. Another happened when the pigman found me in the basement, but he couldn't come downstairs. However, he also didn't start to search again (de-aggro) so I had to kill myself to advance.

One major annoyance with the game was how loud he was. I didn't mind what he said or even the volume, but it wasn't proximity based, so I had ZERO clue where he was, based on what he said. It always sounded like he was right next to me, which didn't add to the terror, but took away from it. With some work this could be a really fun game.

This was really scary! Not ashamed to admit I had to turn the sound down towards the end, the voiceover was really effective (as a Yorkshireman I'm not sure about that northern accent at the beginning but the rest was brilliant haha).

It did take me some time to figure out I could open up drawers and things, I don't know if I missed the instructions somewhere but think that could've been made clearer. I also think it's pretty essential to have at least some footsteps in games like this so you don't just walk around a corner and straight into him (which happened a lot), but it did ramp up the fear factor never knowing where he was, that's for sure!

Loads of potential in this one, well done!

It's a cool game.  I'm not big fan of a genre, but it's great mechanic for game, find something and while not getting killed.  There is a choice how to organize chase should it be random or you can actually understand from where danger is coming. If it should be the second I would work on sound positioning of a professor so player can hear changing of proximity. I absolutely understand that this is a jam so we have no time to polish everything. I forgot to mention cool stilized graphics.

very charming game, was instantly hooked. felt slightly unfair as my machete refused to stun the butcher. also would be nice if sfx let the player know where the butcher was. overall, very fun
