Thematic Relevance
The game is about María Sánchez (1777- 1870) who was an Argentinian spy living in the province of Salta (specifically in Salta city) during Argentinian independence from Spain. With their bastion in Alto Perú (current Bolivia) between 1814 and 1821, the Spanish army attempted to recover the northern territories of the La Plata River United Provinces (current Argentina). This resulted in around nine Spanish invasions in Salta territory so the independentist army (commanded by generals such as Martín Miguel de Güemes) had to repel those invasions and protect their territory. So Maria and other women created an espionage network with the mission of carrying to independent soldiers information about Spanish army movements and plans.

Jam Host

Play as a particularly jumpy spy, racing towards completing its mission!

Slight blur on the intro text, I think the drop shadow on it doesn’t do it too many favors.

I like the artstyle! Once I figured out how to jump, getting the first two notes was quite easy. Was fun to kill the first enemy, and I wish I could have jumped on the things that looked bouncy, but it didn’t work for me. I couldn’t get onto this one, even with an attempt to jump off the wall on the right. I hope you’ll be able to showcase/explain that to me sometime!

Thanks for participating in HAGJ9!

Thanks for your review and for organizing the jam! I agree the text has a blur which makes it hard to read. Will try to fix this. The game is hard. Success is based on a combination of jumps using trampolines, walls and double jumping. To get the note by the water you need to go up on the platforms on the left side of the level and then down on the right side.

Including all the historical information was a nice choice. The game gave me some good retro vibes and the music was a good. It took me five minutes of trial and error before I realised that there was a double jump. Mentioning that in the description could have helped. Good entry.

This is a hardcore game. No, seriously - sorry about the poor instructions. Thanks for playing!

I am really really terrible at this game but I like the music. Very cool of you to write a detailed explanation of the history too.

Also bonus points for using Phaser!

After finding the invisible start button, we managed to get a score of 6. Nice rage game ;)

Thank you! I agree that the start button at the bottom right can be hard to find. Yes, it is a rage game. Sadly, I cannot play it myself anymore due to poor anger management, but it is possible to finish the first and only level. The goal is to find seven pieces of information.
