Briefly explain your games interpretation of the Pacifist theme?
I wanted to make a game where you'd be faced with multiple adversaries, but where the most efficient way of completing the game was not to fight, but instead to deliver them ice cream.

For better or worst I've had to cut down the scope quite considerably and there are no survival or health elements, the NPCs are just slimes that can't hurt you or be hurt. But the core mechanic of getting points for delivering them lollies remained.

Due to issues I've had using my engine of choice I ended up having to sacrifice a lot of the features and used 3rd part assets.

How much CODE (text or visual) did you make?

All

You created all of the code from scratch (excluding game engine)

How much of the game's ART did you make?

Partial

You created some of the art - but used a lot of existing assets

How much of the game's SOUND effects did you make?

None

You didn't create any sound effects - you used existing audio for your game

How much of the game's MUSIC effects did you make?

None

You didn't create any music - you used existing music tracks for your game

Other comments (Code / Art / Sound / Audio)
All code is mine

Art wise;
Slimes, ground texture and UI are mine.
Buildings, the main character and everything else is from https://limezu.itch.io/modernexteriors

The game has no sound or music as I've run out of time and talent by the end of it.

Did you enjoy the jam? Is there anything you'd change if you could start over?
I've enjoyed the theme and pace. I'm really glad that I've gotten back to game dev after taking a break for several years.

What I did wrong was my engine choice. I thought I'd give Godot a go. It proved too unstable and too annoying a tool to work with and just a day before the end of the jam I was feeling like giving up completely because of how frustrating it got. But I decided to do a one last push on Sunday to get at least a prototype into a playable state.

Aren't you awesome for being creative and taking part?

Yes

Fun concept! Loved the art style and you can clearly see the groundwork in place for expansion on mechanics.

Good job!

I am really glad you still chose to submit your game, as I know the challenges you faced made you want to give up at once point! The animations and the states of the monsters were cool to see, and I enjoyed playing a few tries, trying to improve my score. I think the ability to eat icecream if under 50% did mean that you could probably strategise and minimise downtime, by skipping the need to stand still and recover. That balance makes the game interesting as it means players can get "better" at the game over time the more they practice.

Thanks for taking part in the jam!

Thank you for hosting the jam Dan! It was really nice getting back into games while not having the pressure of a 2-3 day jam.

Reminds me a lot of  puffle roundup from club penguin or slime rancher! Despite trying a new game engine and probably being a bit rusty after several years, I'd say this is actually well done, and good on you for trying something new!

Really loved the concept of simply using ice cream to represent pacifism and just rounding them all up!:) Was still pretty fun without polishing!

Thank you 😊

I really wish I had another full day on this, to get the slimes a bit more personality with different preferences, so you would get a points bonus for giving them the correct ice cream and I wanted to make bigger/more levels. But now it is a few days later I actually feel pleased with what I've managed to put together.
