Music done by my 9 year old nephew and my BIL!
Did you enjoy the jam? Is there anything you'd change if you could start over?
I would have made the decision to join sooner and then maybe i could have done the full set of goals i had set!
Aren't you awesome for being creative and taking part?

I indeed never had a chance to get more than about 1500 points, but the important thing is I have so many pugs now. Very cute! And sweet music. If it didn't interfere with your lane-clearing implementation, it might be fun to have them fill in more behind the first line (and then start stacking?). For navigation (and confirming quickly that there really is no way to make it through a gap), it would help to increase the number of lanes or keep them closer together; as it was, with camera distortion it is tough to tell when you're about to side-swipe a horse when you thought you'd be jumping behind them. Not that that's much safer, in reality.
Thanks for the feedback!
Stacking pugs sounds like an excellent idea :D
Increasing lanes would have been a very simple and elegant solution for my spawning issues I think, i should have thought of that!
I am very glad you decided to join the jam after the first weekend! Especially with no game dev experience other than the last Honest Jam, I think you've done great. There was a decent challenge since the positioning of the non-pugs meant that you had to really time the lane switches at time. Lots of charm was added by you, in ways like: pugs following you, music, and woof woof at the end of the track. Good job!!
Thanks for the feedback! Enjoyed taking part!
The game forced me to downgrade my GPU. It didn’t run proper with my current driver, so I upgraded instead and it ran fine.
Endless runners have a soft spot in my heart because one of the first ‘games’ I ever made (back in the 1990’s) was an endless runner. Nice and chill. Brought back some memories (although mine had you drive a VW and trying to hit people in the road). Well done. Music was great
Ah strange about the GPU issue maybe I did something wrong with the build.
Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
My nephew will be thrilled that you enjoyed the music!
I have a crappy GPU so i couldnt run this at more than like 15fps. I liked the ukulele music and it seemed like a pretty fun Run game like Temple Run. The low poly style is always a plus for me as well.
Thanks for playing sorry it wouldn't run properly for you!
Getting a better computer soon!
Another contender in Music category!
Very chill game. Could be really fun with pugscare mechanics as you said, though I'm not sure how pacifist that idea is :D :D
Haha thanks.
My nephew did great with the song, proud of him for giving it a go!
The pugs would only be barking! That's their way of saying "Hello" but maybe the other animals are a tad skittish haha
The pugs running behind the player are so cute! The overall look is nice. Awesome that you had family joining in for the music!
My main issue is the camera relative to the player; it kinda gave me a headache. Just a static camera at the center of the road would be more pleasant. With one three lanes you could compress the road a bit, or have the camera zoomed out some more, so everything is in view.
Nice entry, I hope you learned a lot by joining the jam.
Thanks for the feedback!
I did have the camera fixed originally when I had a "jump" mechanic and then I had to rework some elements and the camera changed with it. I do agree that a fixed camera would be more pleasant so as I will be updating this for my nephew I will make that change on your recommendation!
I definitely learned a lot in this Jam so hopefully I will keep improving :D
I didn't quite like the spacing of the other animals, it was very hard to find an opening sometimes and I had to take the hit
50 PUGS THOUGH
Hey thanks for the feedback!
Yeah I found there were times where the spacing wasn't quite right I think i needed a bit more robust logic on the spawning and spacing as I experienced this during testing.
To counter act it I tried to make the collision more forgiving but it still causes issue if they end up lined up perfectly on the Y axis.
This is only my second time playing with UE so just glad it ran to be honest!
I will add this to a current issues list on the page.
Thanks again!
*Edit*
I just watched your VoD on Twitch and I noticed that the highlight on the pugs didn't render either so something else has gone wrong there!
The pugs should have had a green highlight to make it more obvious what you wanted to collect.
oh heard! I'm glad you found the VOD! sorry if the energy was a little low when i got to your game I was super happy to see it was a "collect the pugs game" but also liked the 3 lane running game (I dont know what this genre is called, but I really like games like yours)
loved it
(how did you find me if you don't mind me asking )
Glad you enjoyed! I believe someone mentioned you were playing the jam games in the HonestDan discord
oh sweet! If you see them again let'em know i said thank you for the mention
