I love the vibes and aesthetics, it feels very cozy. I think my one critique is that I didn't really feel like there were interesting catch 22's or twists. I feel like our games are on the opposite sides of that curve. I'd recommend GMTK's puzzle design video series. best of luck!
Ok, this game is just super lovely!
I love the music and the artwork and the relaxing, turn-based, puzzle challenge.
Things I noticed:
I haven't compared it with the previous version, but I think you're absolutely right to give the player control... Otherwise you get a game that plays itself, right?
Thank you for playing! I’m happy you’ve enjoyed the game!
Thank you for reporting the issue with the MAP button. It was possible to return to the level by selecting its location again and pressing the Continue button. But now it seems there is a bug in it.
As for the houses, we consider having hints over houses or maybe additional popovers to indicate which house belongs to which character. However, for hedgehogs specifically, it doesn’t matter. The mechanics of these characters allow them to exchange houses. The rule is that there must be one hedgehog in one hedgehog house by the end of the day.
I like this take on a puzzle game, it's not something I'd personally pour much time into, but it's cute and seems unique!
How does the game feel in general:
- Pretty good, it plays like I would expect it to, the UI is relatively intuitive and responsive. I think there's probably a fair amount of room for polish, but it's already at the point that I probably wouldn't balk if I saw it for $5.
How is the difficulty:
- It seems like the required objectives are fairly easy, but trying to get all objectives in a run is challenging, which is the ideal mixture in my mind. I could progress easily enough, but would have to go back and really grind getting 3 stars on each level.
Thank you for playing and for your feedback!
Such a fun and beautiful game!
I like the art style and overall look/vibe of the game. The audio design is also amazing.
To answer your feedback questions:
The gameplay feels good, everything is very clear. Everything is working as expected and the core gameplay feels very polished!
I don't think the game is too difficult. The must-do tasks are pretty easy on their own.
The nice-to tasks add some more difficulty to the game, which is nice because players can choose if they want a challenge or not.
I see you might add animations in the future, animations could help bringing your environment to life.
However for your character animation, I would just stick to a simple idle animation.
I like the jumpy movement of the characters, adding a walking animations would ruin that.
Making it turn-based feels much better, but there is a lack of movability, and harvesting forces you to end turn. Because of this, completing the third stage in 3 turns is impossible.
Thank you for playing!
The third level could be completed in three turns :), actually. There’s a trick, of course. It’s explained in the hint before the level.
Very cute and cozy game, pretty nice strategic gameplay too.
It's quite appreciated that there's "main" objectives that aren't too hard then several secondary objectives for those wanting the extra challenge.
Works well, intuitive commands/interface, no bugs, just saw a few typos here and there.
Only suggestion I can think of would be adding some extra customization, like being able to rename the cute critters, maybe different pallette swaps/skins, but those would be just extra bonus stuff, the core gameplay is pretty great as it is with the potential to expand the challenge with special spots like the coffee shop and wandering NPCs.
Thank you for playing! I’m glad you enjoyed the game.
Indeed, I figured out that having several tiers of objectives works well and helps to progress through the game while leaving room for challenge.
Your idea about customizing is very interesting; thank you! The costumes definitely can work. I didn’t think of renaming the creature, but it may also be fun.
