Description
I set out to create an ambient piece that embodies the essence of the theme, aiming to capture a balance between tranquility and an underlying hint of uncertainty. My goal was to keep the composition simple and minimalistic, yet immersive—something I could listen to over long stretches without feeling overwhelmed. Rather than focusing on melodic shifts, the movement and texture in the piece arise from small changes in sound design and subtle effects. These gradual shifts create a sense of evolving atmosphere while maintaining a steady, calming presence throughout the track.

Description of Setup (Optional)
My mix chain is fairly straightforward, relying primarily on EQ, dynamics, and a limiter to shape the sound. I also incorporated a surround delay effect to add depth and dimension to the mix. For the auxiliary effects, which I applied selectively to certain instruments, I used two of my favorite plugins: Valhalla Supermassive and Output Portal.

I like the water and the atmosphere. It definitely is evocative.

Notes at 1:52 sound a bit dry compared to the rest of the mix and therefore close, so it sort of removes the great sense of space that was being built up.

Valhalla Supermassive was a good choice. I'm glad you went big with your reverb - it really helps evoke a sense of space.

Great work!

Hey! I did a review of your entry via video. I posted it on the Jam discord but appreciate everyone might not be on there. Here's the video timestamp for your entry: https://youtu.be/1-aLhBdNCKE?t=2342

Very dark and ominous, the drones combined with the microtonal strings really adds to the anxiety of it. Definitely feels like something you'd hear walking in the dark through the woods in a horror game.

Cool sound design and granulation, very dark but so calm at the same time

Love the field recording vibes intro. One can feel the tension!! And got some Vangelis vibes through it. Distopian futuristic natural music! :)

super dark journey, and I feel a little granular sound here, maybe it seems and the bass is cool so deep and the fact that there is a video series is great.
