I kept reviewing yours for last, because I knew how good it was going to be. I had played a tiny bit when it came out (and through out the month) but didn't properly sit down in front of it until now. And holy hell I never wanted to play the next part of a game so much. As someone who is super squeamish about horror/scary stuff, you got me hooked on this so bad (and I mean I knew from the moment I saw your post on Tumblr.
The writing is fantastic, the UI works so well and the music/background noise just adds on to the vibe of the game so flawlessly. I really love the option to just refuse to sign the waver and just being sent back home (I would do that in real life ngl). I know because of the time constraint you could only release one quarter of the path, but it is really done so well.
I don't think you needed the light mode, the dark one just fits the story too much (also had a little issue with the top picture not blending well). A few variables were shown instead of their values ($herself for Max).
So yeah. nothing but praise here.
Very nice UI with lots of character customization options. I think I managed to skip the entire story by refusing to sign a waiver that I couldn't sue if I got hurt, which is pretty based. xD I will need to play it again some time. Great job!
I definitely found myself sucked into this game, and it's one I would like to come back to when it's finished. A lot of care was put into the UI, and the story was very well written. I think I'm having a hard time understanding how it ties back to the theme of the jam (how do you decide when a cliffhanger was intentional or just accidental?) and to a certain extent it's going to be impossible to judge 25% of a game. But I think the foundation here is excellent.
There are those games that are submitted in game jams that come across as just unfair to the other participants with how good they are. This is one of those games.
You know what you made, so I don't need to review every detail. The only issue I had was it wasn't finished and had a few bugs -- I actually couldn't reload my save, for example. But the atmosphere, the writing, the UI, and the GAMEPLAY of all things is top notch.
I checked out your profile, and saw that you wish to "some day" work in the game industry. Don't worry. You're more than talented enough to make that happen.
Very nicely done and best of luck to you.
