On the 3rd restart I roughly understood the game mechanics. It was probably just me^^
The background music is atmospheric. I think the art style is great.
I would have liked to swap my cards more often, but that wasn't possible. Even though the intention is that you can't lose, I would still have liked a mode where you actually have to fight for survival.
You could also automatically activate your cards from left to right and then only target the opponent card you want. I like it comfortable^^
Good idea. Nice game.
Adding convoluted mechanics and not explaining them thoroughly seems to be a reoccuring theme for me. I'm sorry.
When I update the game, I'll probably add some kind of "endless mode", I dont know what would be the challenge yet, I'll have to get creative.
Thank you for playing and I'm glad you've enjoyed the game :)
Art and visuals were awesome! Once I got the hang of it I had some fun. Good job :)
Thank you, glad you've had fun :)
Nice Job
Thank you, glad you've enjoyed playing the game!
I really dig the art style, reminds me of a Cynthoni thumbnail. The visuals overall were great. I think I crashed the game though by skipping after the end of a round when there was an attack round next.
I'm not sure if it was intentional, but being able to do permanent buffs on cards every round was a really neat idea (if a little broken). But I'm not sure there's any way to lose? The enemy cards don't actually deal any damage.
Overall, this was a great submission. With a bit of touching up in the gameplay department, this could make for an awesome card battler!
Giving permanent buffs to your cards is intentional, otherwise you'd have two souls to take down one enemy. Optimally you use selfless soul to buff up your souls in the early rounds and then either change it for a tortured/malicious soul or buff the enemies for extra score if your souls are powerful enough.
There is no lose state in this game, I wanted to make a chill card game without stress of losing. If the player wants to skip through every round and get a score of 0, they can. Basically, every player can decide their own win and lose state.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game and thank you for playing.
I’m not sure I fully grasped the gameplay. It’s interesting to say the least, but probably a tutorial would have helped. Even just some text to differentiate the phases better? Interesting concept though.
I agree, tutorial would be very helpful. I was thinking about adding text when transitioning between phases, but decided that it'd get annoying after awhile. Hope you enjoyed the game.
