How did you implement the theme?
The "Decay" is a slowly advancing overlay that kills everything it touches, which chases the player forward in an endless runner concept.

How did you add the special object?
The player is a wizard, who can use a wand to temporarily slow or knockback the advancing decay.

What a captivating title! I find the implementation of a 'decay storm' to be quite unique. In addition to that, I also enjoyed the music, visuals, and sound effects! My only complaint is the fact that when you charge up your wand and fire from it, your magic doesn't slow down the storm. But great game nonetheless!

It's a really cool magic.

Thank you!

This is a really cool idea, but the fact you go back to the middle if you get caught on a platform and that you can run over some pits kinda ruins it for me. Also I think it would be cool if you couldn't jump while charging the wand since it's seemingly so much more powerful.

Thank you! I had some plans like abilities and powerups, but I spent too much time on the terrain. And it’s still rough!

I was having doubts about the returning to the middle as well. But it was tough tweaking the terrain, the speed of decay, and the wand strength to feel okay. My wife did most of the playtesting, and she’s definitely no gamer, haha! This made the game a little easier.

Super fun runner. Loved the music and the general premise. I did kinda wish the wand could do more than just blast the chasing decay. Like shoot things out of my way etc…

If you keep working on it after the jam, I think some variation in the levels would be a fun thing to add. Like running through a castle, or a swamp, or something. Just to keep the game changing… but for a game jam game. Solid. Good fun.

Good luck with the jam!

Thank you for the feedback. I definitely have some plans to expand on this, the response so far has been pretty good. I wasn’t expecting it!

I spent way too much time on the terrain generation, and I was a bit constrained due to my work. Initially I had planned on some other things, like abilities, powerups and such.

Your theme/biome idea is great, thank you.

Cool concept for a mobile game! My only complaint is that the terrain generation is a bit scuffed other than that its a good game!

Thanks! I agree, it could use a lot of polishing. That and mobile is definitely something I was looking to improve after the jam. I’m a bit constrained due to work unfortunately.
