OMG what an entry. There isn't much to do but what a story (and teller) took me back to my childhood. Well done!
Those are kind words - I was hopeful that it would make people feel that way and so hearing that it did is very gratifying. Thanks much!
I gave all the treats after all maybe because of so nice atmosphere =P I even had images in my mind about how it all felt like being there while playing and that doesn't happen so often with games. The ending was pretty cool too. Very nice in its own way.
The worst issue is that I couldn't read some of the texts while kiddo walks because they went away way too fast
Thank you - I appreciate hearing that. I was hopeful that I could share a little of what it felt like to be in that place and time, so it is good to hear that it worked for you :) Thanks for the feedback on text duration - never sure what the right amount to stay on screen without being distracting.
Beautiful made game that is nice and reflective, though sometimes I found myself wanting to speed up a bit to get to the next house. Really well-made graphically, and the music choice is terrific :)
Thank you! With more time, I would add a mechanic to let it speed up for those who wanted to move faster. An interesting part of this though is that growing up in a rural setting didn't let me move fast - so the game is accurate. For example, 'just down the road' - over 2 mile walk away - things took time. I wanted a little of that reflected in the game.
Yeah, I understand that, and I think it works on the whole... I think it's just my adhd, impatient gaming brain coming out 😬😬
The overall contemplative and slow nature is really nice though
Good stuff!
Thank you for playing and letting me know!
Maybe I have the attention span of a goldfish, but I feel like having the option to make the game go a bit faster would be nice. It would also benefit people trying to test out all the things that the player can say.
I am the same as you - with more time, I would put in a mechanic to help speed up the play a bit for people who wanted the story faster.
I really like the narrative a lot! sometimes it's just nice to give presents to anyone despite what they have done :D, brings me memories as well :P
Also Merry Christmas for you and the people who were once there :D
Thank you so much for playing andfor your kind words - I appreciate the feedback. It does feel nice to be kind even if others aren't always. I hope you have the best of the season!
Posting here the same comment i left on the game page: Very nice little game, the parallax effect, the day-night imperceptible transition, the fact all the neighbors are silhouettes, the soothing shades of blue, the trees with no leaves and the music all contribute to build a really good atmosphere. Congrats!
This is very nice feedback - it all started with the mountains and the sunset to twilight, so it feels great to know they were noted and had the right effect. Thanks for playing and hope you have all the best this season!
A beautiful narrative experience. I loved all of it! The sounds in the background were a nice touch. Absolutely loved the background- just the way the distant mountains loomed over the foreground.
Thank you for that - I am so glad that people are digging the vibe. Happy holidays!
Loved it! really liked just walking down the street and soaking in the atmosphere
Thanks for the feedback! I really enjoyed making it, so glad others enjoyed experiencing it.
The story is nice, but I think it's worth adding dynamics. Sometimes it's too long to wait for some action that you need to do. On the other hand, as a visual novel, it's great.
That's good feedback - the idea was to be ambiance driven and allow time to experience the place between the interactions.
