Nice concept. The music is amazing! The floor tile graphics are great. The character graphics could use some work and some animation would be nice. I saw you ran out of time, so I'm assuming that the enemies will eventually deal damage/attack. The tracking for the enemies is on point. I'd love to see more enemy types, more waves of enemies, maybe some moving spawn points and different level layouts in the future. Sound effects, especially when dealing damage along with some visual feedback would be nice as well. I hope you add more to this game and turn it into a great fighting for your life brawl it can become!
Short gameplay due to lack of time, but I liked what I saw, seems like you guys were going for an endless topdown shooter with the twist that you can only attack in close range. One issue I want to address is that enemies closer than my attack range dont seem to take damage from my attack so I constantly need to back up to get them aligned to my attack range. I think it is a bit finicky. Otherwise, this is a good start with an interesting twist on top down shooter, such a pity you guys couldnt squeeze in an enemy spawner before the deadline.
I'm glad you adressed that issue. I actually didn't notice it until now. It's a very simple fix though, just need to change the mask for the attack. We will release a new version soon to atleast finish what we aimed for :)
You have the start of a very fun game there :) It needs some feedback when you're getting hit, sound fx (obviously) and some kind of enemy spawning would be good, depending on how you want to do it. The pixel graphics were nice, controls were responsive and intuitive, the music was bitchin' and I liked the mechanic of you becoming the enemy that kills you, that was well done. Good job!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it :) We actually didn't have time to make the enemies damage the player at all...so that explains why there's no feedback on that :P I'm currently working on another project so I'll probably not work that much more on this game, but we'll surely atleast finish what we had in mind for the jam.
Interesting, I like the soul steal mechanic that you become who you kill. The music didn't seem to work for me, but listened to the ogg file and sounds epic. The controls are smooth and your pixel art is really cool!
