Picture it this way: You're stuck at home, a comfy if small studio apartment, with hopefully enough rations to last through the shutdown. It's just your dog and you, with no idea of what to do with yourself. Your former life seems over, kaput. You spend your time trying to make sense of these ridiculous though dangerous times.
Truth is, you're now about halfway out of your mind.
In an effort to retain what's left of your sanity you decide to be productive and get back into game development. Something you started doing for fun about six months ago. You even joined some game jams and managed to complete a few prototypes. But being the perfectionist you are you never felt they were any good and moved on to other things.
But now that you're stuck inside, you decide to bust out the keyboard and try and finally work on something you can feel good about without the stress of "competing" in a jam. But seeing as how you're still a novice and could do with some support you randomly click on a few game jams in search of something low-key that might fit.
You land on a jam that piques your curiosity. It's hosted by a guy who due to the same ridiculous though dangerous circumstances wants to be "productive" with the time on his hands but in a way that he can enjoy. The word coincidence pops into your mind, then pops right back out again.
Spurred to action to "finish something" and feel good about it, he embarks on a quest and dares others to join him.
You decide to accept the challenge. You're no longer about halfway out of your mind. More like a quarter, maybe less. Possibly only eighteen percent.
[By the way: lf you're not following any of this - or, come to think of it, if you're at all annoyed -- I suggest you forget this post -- and me. It's just not going to work out between us]
