I wish this GameJam had a sound category. I especially loved the sound fx selections and the music. I've played so many games this jam with zero sounds at all lol.
The rest was good too though, gameplay basic, but still fun. The graphical assets were used well. Good job!
Thank you!
My kids played a big part in choosing the music and sound effects so I will make sure to pass this along.
They've got good ears!
Probably my favorite game of the jam! simple but addictive
Oh wow, thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it.
I always love to hear story about people working with their kids to build a game. I see it as a way of "preparing future devs" :D The presentation is good and the simple mechanic of dodge is always a classic and enjoyable experience. I like the little puffs of smoke when you transform, and the speed boost effect...however, I did find it really challenging to see what was doing on because of the blazing speed. Maybe doing some parallax to simulate speed faster than what you are really doing and slowing down the street would help make it easier on the eyes. :)
My son has been making mario maker levels for a couple of years so now we are trying to move him to the next level!
I agree with the speed, the parallax is a good idea. The road and buildings are actually parallax layers so we could implement something like that pretty easily, thanks for the suggestion.
Very fun game! It’s a simple but enjoyable game to play when you’re bored. One feedback I do have is that the readability is a bit bad, it’s kinda too zoomed out and, for example, at first I didn’t pick up the gas cause I thought it was a hazard. Overall, pretty fun game!
That's a good point. I knew what was going on so picked them up, making them more obviously something to pickup and bigger would help that out.
I almost got to the level at 7k and then had a very bad streak of luck haha.
Very fun little game and awesome that you included your kids! I hope the jam was a good experience for you all.
The game itself reminds me of Spy Hunter. It definitely would be cool to see more of this, maybe with some extra features!
Spy Hunter! That brings back memories. We have added a couple upgrades already like an online leader board and more variety in vehicles and my kids have lots of ideas that they would like to add so we may certainly do that over the next few weeks. We also have an android
version running now.
The Jam was great experience for us, it was my first one and will definitely do some more. My wife liked it because it kept the kids busy and distracted too.
Thanks for playing!
Very fun! You and your kids did a good job
Thank you for playing, glad you had some fun with it.
Nice looking and I enjoyed the game play. Something about it just brought up a nostalgic feeling in me. Nice work.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing!
fun little obstacle dodging game, reminds me of some of my less proud moments on the interstate lol (especially the running out of gas part oh no)
you and your kids did great!
LOL, glad we could bring you a trip down memory lane!
Fun little game and great submission.
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it.
Good gameplay and I liked the simplicity! I think the progression should be a little faster
Yeah, we struggled back and forth on progression. I think we found an ok balance but certainly not perfect.
The 3 of you did a good game!
The collision animation was very funny.
The speed and progression feelings were nice.
I heard no sound?
(And that's the fourth game I tried but the first one which appears to have been made for this jam)
edit: my mistake, the sound problem was on my computer
Thanks for playing, spent a lot of time make adjustments to the progression so glad you liked it.
