Yeah there isn't a lot here to critque. I enjoyed the theme and artstyle and I think if you had enough time to implement the gameplay you could make something very fun and unique.
I am planning to let this be my first project outside of college when I am finish in the fall. I am happy to see the positive feed back from everyone.
Gg for the submission! A shame that it's not finished, but after all, 1 week isn't much and doesn't give you time to experience much. I'm unable to craft things, is this normal?
Your crafting should of gone into the deck. You only start off with 4 types of mana cards with 5 of each for a total of 20. Once you craft it goes back into the deck and the components go back in the deck as well. I wanted to do an animation for it but the time frame was short for me because of outside world says other wise. If you click through you can see some of the combined caards.
Ok, I'm going to try it
You've got a nice concept of crafting items in a card game. You could make it a game where you have to make sure you are left with more points or just having no cards left against the enemy (computer). Or you could make it a survival type of card game where you draw cards and craft something that increases your points in surviving. It's a shame you couldn't finish it. I know the feeling of submitting an unfinished game. We just imagine it so differently with so many cool and awesome features. But its tough to implement them all. Well done on submitting!
MY goal was to try to make it a Real Time Strategy card game since real-life that can get tricky. I wanted to make it so you and your opponent starts off with 5 of the 4 basic mana cards. You draw as quickly as you can and craft as fast as you can and build up spell cards. The more components it takes the higher the damage is done off of one card. When you craft, your two component cards go back along with the new "Combined" card. That way you can quickly fire off higher level spells and still be able to build some of the basic ones. It is not doable in traditional face to face card games but the fact its a video game means theres room to expand the genre. I don't know any other games out there that does real time card mechanics, effectively, but I think its a worth of a dive into it. It was an ambitious goal but so far the reviews from everyone seems to be really positive so I might carry on with the project once school is done for the fall.
Aah I see, that's an interesting game. Yes, do expand on that idea and create one. I'd love to play it.
I know that this is just an unfinished jam project but for some reason i was unable to craft anything and when i crafted two of the same it just made them disappear and nothing happened.
loved the card game idea tho.
btw you missed out on calling it something to do with magic the gathering.
What is actually happening with the crafting is that it goes back into your deck automatically and the deck "reshuffles" I should of made it a lot more clear. ALSO DANGGIT I KNEW I MISSED A JOKE SOMEWHERE XD
