Hey, its the boat game guy! Love the art style of your game!
I revamped the whole physics of the game to make the jumping easier to control and more fair towards the player. Please take another look at the game and let me know if you feel it better
A very Nice game I like how it's well designed and how it make you think how you should take advantage of every characters, Enjoyed playing it you did a nice job
Thank you! I am glad that you liked it!
Good game! The levels were built very well and the art was very nice. The jumping felt a little wonky (not sure how to explain it). It took me a little bit to realize that I had to not move at the beginning to keep the characters from dying when I switched. Over all I had a good time playing it.
Good fun game, the graphics simple but fit well. I like the character art too
This was such a nice take of the theme! The puzzles are super well thought out! It encourages experimentation with what sequence of characters you should go with at the start of the level, and thats really neat! The difficulty curve was paced greatly as well. The simplistic art style was a good fit with what you were going for (makes it easier to process everything on screen at once, which is essential, imo, in a puzzle game). Just good execution over all! Great job, this was really fun!
The levels are great and are very challenging! They might be a bit unfair at times though.
I found it very tedious when i moved slightly just as a level started and had to restart the level so i can swap characters.
The music is great, but it gets a bit repetitive after a while.
The art style is great and simple!
It matches the theme perfectly too. Great game!
I originally had a timer so the player doesn't move by accident, I think I will change it to an area where you can move freely and swap characters with no risk. Thanks for the feedback!
Cool game.. I like the puzzles
Great idea with nice puzzles ! at first I didn't notice that I can manually switch character with TAB lol (but after I noticed that all begins)
puzzles in each level is awesome, also it feels really good when moving the platform with the little orange guy lol
Perhaps the controls / jump can be slow down a bit?
Great game and gameplay loop. Switching the characters was a really cool mechanic. I first played it without the cayote time, and it definitely feels better with it (although the time may be a bit too long? at least from a visual perspective it can look be quite far off the stage while still able to jumping).
One cool thing to explore would be if you're able to push the other characters during the time
One thing I think would really help is if your fallen comrades don't disappear (so you can go past their dead bodies when you redo the level with the new person). Could also have some blood splatters left on the level.
Landing & jumping effects would also add a lot with how much they're a focus
I think an ability to look ahead and plan out how you're going to tackle the level would be cool
I would often do a sequence for one of the characters, and then swap to the wrong character, accidentally move, and then having to repeat that sequence a couple of times. Some undo function might be nice? Or in general optional saving after doing one of the characters? But could make it too easy, not sure. (These things were more stuff I noticed with the more difficult levels)
Overall really enjoyed the gameplay and had a great time playing it.
Thank you! I will do an effort to improve the animations! I wanted to do it but the times was quite short for a first timer like me, I will keep updating this game in the future, since I think that I can improve this further, I might even rewrite a lot of stuff if everything goes alright! I appreciate your feedback. The idea of pushing other characters was something I considered, I will probably not make a direct interaction between them, but I will try to design levels where they can be moved thanks to the abilities of other characters.
Very good game! I really enjoyed the mechanics. Simple but effective and definitely a good take on the jam's theme!
The puzzles were short and sweet and interesting to solve! Highly recommended!
Really good game!
loved it! as simple as that
Very good looking game with the minimal art style. The controls seemed good however the levels were definitely a challenge which was nice but confusing at time. Overall, the audio, art, and creativity made it a great game and with polish and new features could make it a full game. If possible a play through and rate of my game would help a lot. Thanks again!
Very pretty looking game! I like the simple cute art design. The controls seem responsive, although jumping seemed a bit difficult and unfair at times, maybe because a lack of coyote time plus the fall speed of the little creatures, it proved difficult for me to jump near ledges. The puzzles made you think for a second before sacrificing creatures to proceed. The music, it has a good rhythm but the melody kinda ruined it for me, it seemed all over the place. Still nice to listen to. A nice little jump sound I feel would make the game feel a bit better, since it's based on jumping a lot. Overall a great game, it has some drawbacks, but it's nothing a little polish can't resolve. :)
The coyote time and the gravity of the game have been improved and now it should feel a lot better than before, make sure to give it another try and let me know of it feels any better :D
i really liked your game idea and creativity
quite a unique little gameplay loop here. nicely done
Thank you so much, I appreciate it coming from you, your game is really cool!
nice game with simple arts i didnt love the music but the i love the gameplay and gamedesign the by the way the game is so hard but i have fun play it congratulation ! IGNORE THE LANGUAGE
Great gameplay, really nice creativity! The controls could be polished a bit more but overall a fun experience! Best of luck!
Thanks! With controls do you mean different inputs or a different gamplay feel? Anyways I agree on both, I should have focused a bit more time on that since it is really important to make the gameplay feel rewarding. This is my first game tho, so in the future I hope to improve that
It was a bit of both, I had to go back to the main menu the first time to find out TAB was for swap. Really great job overall, has some Lost Vikings feel to it! :D
Thank you!, also, tab basically applies a player++ thing cycling trough every player at the beggining of the level, however, I did not develop a way to keep doing that everytime a character dies. thats why you have to press tab a 3 times even if you only have 2 characters. But hey, it worked XD
Just to let you know, the game has been updated and now it has coyote jump and buffering
Fantastic job on your game! I love the whole aesthetic and the puzzles are very clever. There were a few times where I had to stop and think about how I needed to solve them. The music is very charming and the characters feel great to control, especially the fast green guy.
You added the keypress pause on new levels which is nice, but to increase responsiveness you may want to make it so that new key presses end this timer. If the player presses a key and nothing happens, then that can lead to confusion.
Your jumping is based on whether or not the player had jumping held down, which leads to a lot of awkwardness when you're trying to make that really long jump, so you hold jump the entire time and let off at the last second, but it's too late and your character jumps again. It's a big disconnect from what you wanted to happen and feels very awkward.
There's no feedback when you collect black's keys. This is especially imprtant on the level where you have to jump into the spikes to collect it. My camera snapped back to the orange character before I could register whether or not I collected it, and thus didn't know until I walked all the way over there with the orange character to see that, thank goodness I had and didn't need to restart the level.
Great job on this, it's impressive and a lot of fun to play.
