Why doesn’t the host actually respond or moderate their own game jam? It’s been cluttered with games that blatantly break the rules (paid, unrelated topic, multiple submissions by individual people, and games that were finished before the jam even started) since the beginning and I haven’t seen MCLSoftware do anything about it.

I’m not submitting a game until the issues are addressed. I’d rather use my work on a better-managed game jam later if things don’t get handled properly.

I completely understand you! I think the Game Jam is now community managed. Which can also lead to false results for the games. I do trust the community, but it might lead to fake ratings to ruin your game. Also to mention the paid/unrelated games. The paid ones are free just listed as paid, they should've really said it lol. And for the unrelated games, must be bots or a little kid trying to upload Minecraft texture packs (which were stolen) to the Game Jam. I believe that MCLSoftware should pay attention to this Jam, instead of completely ignoring it. I've already uploaded my game so fingers crossed 🤞. I'm going to check on the multiple submissions part too... I'll get back to you!

I believe that is no reason to not post your game here, if it fits the jam, it's one more platform to display it on, and people looking for such may miss out on it.

We can still report the blatant spam and irrelevant submissions, as well as leave a negative rating /review on it.

I still agree with the need for moderation but since there is none, this is the best we can do.
