It was a little tough to figure out what was going on at first but everything became apparent over a few plays. I'd have like a music option to make it a little quieter but thematically it really added a sense of urgency to gameplay. I also found myself desiring a restart button or key to speed up deaths sometimes.

Solid game otherwise though!

There was practically no use of the jam's theme, but as a separate game, it was good. It was simple, but that made it fun and kept me on my toes. If I were to change anything, I would add more visuals (even if that's just some patterned background with geometric shapes or something so that you can see things move past you that aren't the platforms), coyote time, and the ability to restart the level quicker as I typically want to try again quickly. I like how you made the black fade in though, as it adds mystery, but I think the restart button should fade in with it at the same time. The music was good and suspenseful, but very repetitive and since the only sound effect seemed to be the dying one, that got repetitive as well. I like how the spikes didn't instantly kill you, however, and instead slowed you down as it adds to the main focus of escaping the darkness.

So, besides theme, which was lacking in your game, other than dyign and restarting the level, your game was SOOOO cool.

You had just 4 simple mechanics: spikes, plataforms, darkness (and darkness pits) and moving plataforms. But you exploited these mechanics to the limit.

GREAT! exposition, of all the game that did restart as a plataformer mechanic, yours exploited it to the most, and fulles. Great job there.

Music was simple, but in combination with the way you introduced the game, it really left an impact. That was great immersion and storytelling in a simple manner.

Level design is very clever too, except for the pixel perfect jumps. Id say that if i'd choose something to improve the level design, it would be the addition of coyote time.

Great entry, very solid.
