I really like this type of game and i like the mechanics. It is just a prototype of game, but for this i really like it. Dont let this game just fall, work further on it and improve it with more type of enemys, mor type of attacks and a bigger and better looking map. Dont get me wrong, i really enjoyed the game and i did some runs because it was fun!

Thanks for the encouragement to keep this project alive! I know for me personally, it pained me to have to cut some of the enemies and stuff that we had planned due to time constraints.  After getting some much needed sleep, I have a feeling we might dig back into this and see if we can definitely add to the variety some.  Appreciate the feedback!

I felt like I was playing a JRPG. Oh, the countless hours of grind! The dialogue system was also very nice. It's obvious that whoever made this game put a lot of time and effort into it. But I'll be honest with you: After playing it for about 15 minutes, I kinda got bored of the grind. I feel like if there was more variety, I could keep grinding for longer, just to see those new environments and enemies. (I'm sorry if this is already a thing and I didn't see them because I couldn't beat the boss) But it's totally understandable because we only had 5 days. In fact, I think this was the most logical choice: Quality over quantity.  Delivering a short, solid game with no bugs instead of a huge game that is broken.

The story was also intriguing and made me curious: Who is our character? Who is he? What are these slimy creatures? Why is the boss bigger, and why is he fighting us?

So all in all a very nice game that gets a bit stale after some time, but we can say that for %90 of games made in jams. Keep on rocking!

Thanks so much for taking the time to share you thoughts! All of us working on this project are huge JRPG fans, so it was a blast trying to make one of our own.  We definitely wish we'd have had more time to flesh out a few more of the enemies and whatnot that we had planned, but such is the way of a Jam haha.  We may keep tinkering on this one to get some more of that variety in there to help break up the Slime Grind.  Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the feedback! I completely agree! Especially after testing through a bunch of times haha. Unfortunately we were just a little too ambitious considering our time frame. Enemies were unfortunately all slimes besides the boss. I think you really only potentially missed out on a little dialogue and maybe some equipment.

The use of the theme was pretty good but not all that original. I really like the art but I feel like it should be more consistent. It was easy to locate which sprites you did/didn't put a lot of work into. Overall good art though! I never was a fan of turn-based combat myself, but I feel like if I did then this is a good use of it, so I'll still give you the credit. Some things were unclear, but that may be more on my end. The audio was pretty good. As I said, it was similar to a lot of other games, but the art and different twists made it still fairly good!

I appreciate the feedback! We definitely ran aground on time so love got spread a little lopsidedly.

OK, so the adderence to the theme was like the sam as the thers, a plataformer that resets when you die. And I'll be sincere, I think that Turn-based combat was good some years ago, but after playign FF 1 to 15, chrono trigger, legendr of dragoon, legend of mana, mythwars, what not, the mechanic has aged terribly. I liked the twist that you added to spice the turn based combat: the plataforming sections, great and imaginative idea here. But it made plataforming feel encumbered, and combat feel as a nuisance. you have to come up with mechanics that make combat shine, instead of tarnishing it.

There was also the fact that there was a story, but I never seemed to find where to continue it, and I just killed a bunch of monsters

There wasn't much depth o strategy in combat, so it was mindlessly pressing the same button over and over until someone died.

I liked what you tried to do, great job!

PLease play our game!

Thanks so much for the feedback - we definitely appreciate the insight and can't wait to continue making more of these to keep enhancing the ideas that we had!

I really like these turnbased games. I grew up playing JRPGs. I just would love to see a game that used those turn mechanics in a way so innovative that chagnes everything. I feel your game hitted that spark of what if we do something different. Iloved that, and I definitely feel inspired to do the same! Hope to see you in the next jam!

Thank you for the concise feedback! Story was spread pretty sparsely, Some at the start and some at the end boss but unfortunately didn't have time to do much else with it. There was definitely a lot we learned this jam for what we can improve on next time.
