Did you work in a team?
We worked in a team of two, with codergopher making the music, PolyMars making sound effects, and both of us doing art and code.

Was the resolution a challenge?
Getting our sprites to lock to a 64x64 grid wasn’t too hard with SDL2, and with that we were able to come up with a decent solution for low resolution rendering.

What did you learn?
Our goal for the jam was to make a game together with C++ and SDL2, which normally isn’t the most practical way to make a game in a short period of time. We came across lots of problems, and, while some of them couldn’t be fixed, we at least know how to avoid them in the future :)

Reaaally liked the theme music! Took me some time to recognize stuff and figure out what I should keep or throw in the trash :P A delightful experience!

You mentioned the web build was buggy… but I suffered through it long enough to get a feel for the game lol.

It’s pretty fun! Really cute art! Chill experience.

Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed the game :)

really fun

Thank you :)

This was simple & pretty cute! It felt like there was a lot more bad hotdogs than good ones though which made the game feel a bit slow. All-in-all, not bad!

Thanks! The hotdog spawning could probably use some adjustments, but I'm glad you liked it anyway!

Thank you :) We weren't able to thoroughly test the game due to a time crunch, and we were able to implement a more balanced spawn rate. Right now the game sits at 1/8 chance of a good hot dog, which is quite low, and rather disturbing for a hot dog factory :) . Once the rating period is over, we'll see what minor fixes we can do.

Great fun :) Reminds me of a HotDog version of the I Love Lucy Chocolate Factory Scene . Great use of a minimal atheistic, and I really love the toxic/rotten/moldy/rat-eating hot-dog graphics.

Thank you! We weren't able to implement some of the bigger ideas we had for the game, but I'm glad we were able to produce an enjoyable game.

OH GOD NO DON'T DROP THE HOTDOG AHHHH... Um also this hotdog factory is like really bad, seriously how many radioactive hot dogs do you have to make before making one decent one?

Very basic gameplay, but hey it works. Unfortunately there are subpixels when you put things in the bin. How did you make the web port from C++ ?

Developer

Due to lack of time we weren't able to expand upon the gameplay, but thanks for trying it out anyway! By the time we noticed the subpixels, we were pretty late into the jam and sadly weren't able to come up with a solution in time.  And the web build was made with Emscripten and its built-in SDL2 port, which has worked well in the past but seems to be unstable for this specific game since we use a lot of dynamic  memory (de)allocation.
