Fun little game! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Thanks.
Stunning to look at! The level select screen and the "dead" screen are simply beautiful and very well polished. Gameplay-wise, I think having to memorize the levels to be able to complete them can be frustrating to some players. I think it'd be a good idea to add some sort of visual queue on the right side of the screen to indicate how many guards are coming to each lane so the player has the opportunity to plan a bit ahead. Overall, very good entry, great job!
I thought you could assess the enemys in time.
but the 64 by 64 pixels make this more difficult than expected.
Good concept for the game. A few things did not work that well for me… f.e. the darker coloring while on the back lane felt odd, too dark like it was sooo far away. My guess is this was to clearly identify you are in the other lane but then dying animation does not match colors when happening in that lane. Fun to play, good job!
Wait a second, wouldn't you want to be running *away* from the police not toward them? I love how this game just goes straight to "Dead" when you hit them, totally unapologetically. I wasn't aware that you can switch lanes while jumping. It would be nice to have that explained up front.
Neat game! Graphics are great, I absolutely adore the level select badges and the way you gave them depth. The god rays in the forest are a really nice touch, too. I don't know if I'd have preferred being able to switch lanes mid-jump - as it stands the gameplay is less reactive and more about level memorisation, but that's not necessarily a negative.
I gotta know, though... what crime did I commit that not only drives me to escape all the way into the mountains, but also drives the cops to follow me there?
Which crime the main character has committed is subject to your imagination.
She probably stole donuts from the police.
Simple, clean, pleasing to look at. Dang! Nice job! I wish there was some way to save yourself last minute when you realize you messed up. I think that would make it feel a little more forgiving when you're 50% of the way through jumping over a double helping of cop.
I also like how when the cops catch you, you die. Yikes! Awesome job. Really solid play experience.
