This is actually a really cool concept! There's so much you're able to do with those few simple rules!
As someone had previously pointed out there's a bit of a difficulty imbalance, but outside of that you've got something really cool here!
I'd love to see this develop further in the future!
After some further research it looks like you didn't make the game but rather the levels. I'm not an official but I feel like that's pushing the rules a bit.
thanks for feedback. I used Pix64, which is listed as a fantasy game console. But if the judges don't feel it meets the standard that's fine, i tried some new ideas at least.
The idea of using a few simple mechanics in a variety of different levels was actually kind of interesting.
The levels felt kind of random though and the difficulty all over the place so I think having some kind of progression could have been nice.
Everything else is also a bit minimal, which I understand might be part of the aesthetic, bit some simple music, or a nicer menu could have made it feel more like a finished product.
thanks for the suggestions ! :)
I'm getting a no cart found! error.
ill check and repost thanks
I reuploaded it works from my end. The cart is under the Shmup cart, so scroll down please to see it then it should load. Thanks.
After some further testing, it wasn't your upload that was the problem, it was the user(me). Wine wasn't setting the right working directory when I ran it from KDE's file manager(dolphin). Ran it from a terminal window and everything worked perfectly. Sorry for the inconvenience. Fun little maze game, BTW. I especially liked the way you implemented the countdown timer.
great glad it works!
