Did you work in a team?
Nope just me
Was the resolution a challenge?
I don't even know how to set up the 64-pixel resolution at first. Luckily with some help from the community, I was able to do that. Also it is quite hard to choose and design assets for the game as there may be some pixel-glitch while the game was playing. But overall I think I've done all I can do to make the game playable. The Godot forum also Youtube help me a lot too.
What did you learn?
I think I am more familiar with the Godot engine, the function, the coding stuff, etc. Besides this is the first game jam I've ever joined and the first game I've ever made so I think that's already a huge success for me.

The platforming wasn't very satisfying - movement felt a bit stiff and unrealistic and some of the difficulty felt unfair.
Bumping into walls that you can't see on the next screen was really frustrating, and there were a lot of jumps that required specific speed/height or you either don't make it, or hit your head on a wall.
All this combined with the super hard punishment of possibly falling back down to the start made this overall pretty frustrating.
The shadows also looked a bit unnatural - maybe they could have extended farther to the ground and faded out a bit.
Besides for that it did look pretty nice and the lizard/sun concept was cute.
Thanks for your detailed suggestions! I will try to see what I can do to improve the player movement also with the shader looks like :)
Challenging platformer, the “rest in the shadow” mechanics is a good touch. The platforming is quite hard though. Nice entry overall, with nice graphics (that sprite from Lowry, Omniclause’s entry last year is great) and a good music to go along.
Thanks for playing the game :) !!!
Nice! Cool(hot) lizard pixelart!)
Dont know its me or what but I bumpin in platforms every time and had to start over.
Can you tell me more about the bumpin platform problem ? I want to know if its a bug or something :)
Oh, okey! I doubt that it's bug - more my fingers to blame) Almost every time I couldn't calculate perfect moment for jump and bumb my lizard head on upper platform. It's basic platforming skills, I know, but in this game I just cant) After this lizard loose horizontal speed, and choose to move vertically down. Oh well)
It's shame that in game so much colorful levels and I stuck on first couples.
OH NONONO Please don't say that. Platform games are supposed to be hard in my opinion. Even I got stuck on some of the levels few days after I finished the game XP. And I think its more like the camera makes you hard to predict the platform and levels, I'll definitely fix that after the jam.
Nice job! As others have mentioned the camera is a bit rough, but the overall gameplay loop is really fun. I really enjoyed playing it!
Thank you so much for playing the game :) !!!
For a first game jam I'm really impressed with what you got here! The sun slowly cooking you adds a nice extra layer of difficulty.
I would say that the camera switching between different parts actually wasn't the most difficult part of the game for me. I would say that the most difficult aspect in this game is me dying because I stopped focusing on the health bar.
I think making the bar blink red and/or make a noise when you're low on health would definitely help with that!
Yeah making a noise during low health is a great idea! I may try to add it to the game after the rating period. Thanks for your suggestion!
That's a very nice little game :)
I like how every level brings some more complex elements.
The only hard part was with level switching, sometimes you need to know the current state of the next level before jumping to it and there is no easy way to predict it.
Good job!
Thanks for noticing the level of difficulties in the game and I'm glad you like it! And yes the level switching part is a bit tricky because of the camera, I will get that fixed very soon:)
I liked it, the idea of the sun burning you is good. The platforming is hard but funny with the addition of the sun and shadows mechanics. I agree with the camera issue but it's still perfectly playable.
Glad you like it!
funny concept, ilove that the sun burns you it adds an extra difficulty, but the camera was awfull, i would love if were possible that the camera follow the player, at least in this kind of games, but it was the only issue the rest of the game was great especially the art
Yea I totally agree with you about the problem with the camera. At first I was trying to make the camera like Jump King, but it turns out that the 64*64 resolution is not suitable for a camera like that. I will consider more about the applicability between the game type and jam rules next time. Also thanks for playing the game and for your nice word about the art!
