Did you work in a team?
Solo developer. A very fun jam. I brought an ambitious idea and I had a lot of fun making it under the restrictions of the low resolution.
Was the resolution a challenge?
Fitting info on the screen was challenging. Text, stats, timers, meters... This game has all of those things going on. Organization and space management were crucial to making these elements legible.
What did you learn?
I think I will scope more efficiently after this jam. Moreso than other jams I've joined, real life obligations and needs took priority over my development time. That said, the generous schedule made adjusting my scope to my limited resources a fun challenge. Other than that, my goal of making a unique fishing game was (hopefully) accomplished.

I love the firefly following you around as the light source for the game. The fishing is a nice mechanic. Global game goals are kind of a bit obscure and you don’t have that big a clue… Got slaughtered at the fight after fishing the flashing fish because my stats were low and in that combat there’s actually nothing you can do but see it happen (or so I think…). Overall an interesting idea! good job in this entry!
I like the palette, and the graphics, but I couldn't really figure out what to do. Otherwise, extra atmospheric stuff
I liked the overall vibe of this a lot! The setting and characters were great and the fishing / stat boosting system was fun to interact with.
Great atmosphere. The lack of explicit explanation of what to do gave the game an air of mystery that helped the overall experience. With the end, I either missed some mechanic or ran into a bug, as the fight took about 15 minutes of waiting for the turn timers to elapse. It was about 40s between attacks for me and 80s between attacks for the enemy, with 3/6/3 and 5/12/5 stats, respectively. I did manage to eke out a win, so that part was nice.
Oh my gosh I'm so sorry but also astounded that this happened. I haven't beaten it myself, so consider yourself the first. Well done.
It wasn't bad, I just had some nice music in the background while I did some other tasks. I'm glad my strategy of randomly picking things to do paid off!
love the eerie vibe the visuals and sound give off! you absolutely nailed the atmosphere, well done.
Going in I had absolutely no idea what to expect. Very cool take on the concept, there's lots of ways to potentially strategize (although I never actually created a winning strategy). Catching fish can sometimes be a bit tricky.
Really cool, great look and feel to it. Loved the atmosphere.
Good game!
This is wonderfully surreal. It could be the little-sitting-down-to-fish animation, or the tiny lightning-bug that bobs around lighting the way, or the over vibes of the place. The slow burn only adds to how wonderfully bizarre it is. Love it. I'd love to see this developed into a whole world.
