I really like this game! Just a few things to point out with my playthrough:

  • The audio feels like it’s missing on the low-end. Not sure if this was a stylised choice?
  • There seemed to be a UI glitch when I was on the level “The Moon”, where the bosses health wouldn’t go down and then suddenly it was almost all gone, then unfortunately died

The whole “glitched” theme is very cool and I love the special glitched attacks and class changes!

Oh hey! Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

I think I wasn't able to convey it properly, because it happens in a kinda confusing way: But the moon has 999 HP and after 8 turns it swaps it's HP with the green character, moving down to a range of 25-40 HP or less.

My initial idea was to make some kind of dialogue and make a special (slower) effect for the life swap, but I kinda rushed it because the game needed a final boss haha, and I wanted to create a unique mechanic for it.

About the audio, I think it was a matter of experience. I wanted to make a "radio-esque", low quality effect on audio/music but I think it killed the bass altogether. So yes, it's a stylistic choice, but one I could've improved by proper mixing and mastering.

Hey! I made a top ten video of the games from this jam. (Spoiler alert, this game is in it)

If you like the video, please feel free to share it :)

Check it out!

This game was pretty cool! I did have a little bit of difficulty navigating the menus, but looking at other screenshots I think the text may have been glitched for me. Cool game regardless!

Uh... that's new

I wonder if it has something to do with the OS resolution or browser zoom. Sorry it happened to you hehe, I've seen this issue happen for a few people with my entry last year, but I thought I had it fixed by now lol. Anyway, thanks for playing!

I do not like games based on fighting but the graphics and the sounds are feeling very good. It reminds me of the glitch in Racked Ralph… :)

I’m happy if you also play and rate mine.

Just beautiful. I loved it

Even though the genre is not my cup of tea, this was great.

Aside from the graphics and battle system, the clever humor was the best!

Triumphed with the second try, Moon is tough. Deep and very nicely made game! I’m not a FF fan, but I figured it out quickly thanks to the instructions. Music is just right!

I was pretty sure the Moon was so close to defeated. But my Archer got hit by a chunky attack, deleting the remaining half of his hp. My Guard even did its lil' auto first aid to bring my Archer back from the dead at 4 hp. But the game said no no no. Certainly a short intense roller coaster of emotions. As I thought I had some cheesy chance to keep going.

The Glitch abilities are a fun mechanic. Felt good to have them come in clutch or absolutely obliterate the last bit of the boss's health. And I do like the enforcement of keeping the entire party alive. Even though it is just the 2 characters. That adds interesting strategy and tension. The cannibalistic class change is an elegant design. Not only does it add discovery and replayability. But for someone like me who kind of got bored of the 2 starting classes after the first battle. I was able to instantly get a new class to learn and play around with. I would say that kept me playing a genre I tend to steer clear of. (I prefer a slightly more active role in combat like Paper Mario or the Mario & Luigi series of RPGs offers)

Had fun, even though I did not actually beat it. Keep up the good work.

Very fun game!

I loved the glitch meter unlocking special attacks, that’s a nice concept :)
