Themes
We used the Unconventional Weapon theme. It was fun coming up with ideas for weapons. We decided on using office supplies as weapons. We have a pencil as a melee weapon and a scissors that acts as a boomerang.
Tools
Godot 4.2 was the engine used to create the game. It was very simple to setup the project for the resolution requirements.

The enemy design and animation is just gorgeous!
I really liked the art style in this! I think a bit more polish (sound effects, health bar) would have fully rounded it out but I think this was a nice submission, great job!

Nice entry here. I like the classic Mario Bros. gameplay, and the visuals are well done. The controller support is great, but it doesn't work on the menus. to improve the game further, I suggest adding a Game over SFX & some sort of health indicator.

The graphics rendering is very nice. I tried it out both with keyboard+mouse and gamepad and it seems to be roughly equally playable with either, aside from there seems to be no way to confirm in a menu using a gamepad. It would be good to add a health indicator, but besides that, it is a well-put game, good job! :)
Thanks for playing the game! We had talked about how to add a health indicator without it being too intrusive. We had planned on adding it to the pause menu along with the score, but we never got around to it.
Just played Pencil Pete! I really loved the art style in this game it was super unique and used the low resolution well! Something I wish that was added to the game was more variety of weapons or something to power up the player. Awesome job!
We initially had more weapon ideas such as a stapler as a ranged weapon, a pen as a melee weapon and thumbtacks as a trap. We just ran out of time. I'll let our artists know, thanks!
