This was such a chill time! Love the music and overall vibe :)
Good job. Easy to play. Very beautiful design and calm music!
Chill fishing game, easy to grasp and play. Good artwork and music.
Cute game! chill vibes! I did not end up going for collecting 1000 coins. The shark's on-target reward versus off-target punishment is absolutely ruthless, I easily caught everything smaller than it but it immediately peeled itself off all three times I found it (I did find it with heron bait, and I "won" when it ran off with the special bait, which I am assuming IS intentional, given it's dynamite)
It's just a really big jump in reward versus punishment, you need to have an on versus off target ratio significantly higher than any other fish demands, to theoretically catch the Great White.
(Also, the text is not quite pixel-perfect. It's nearly there, but the blocks of text are slightly offset from the pixel grid, and there is a slight sub-pixel-sized gap between each row of text...)
The pixel art is very successful and fishing in this lagoon reminded me that I too had wanted to make a fishing game for a while... thank you for this nice moment it was very relaxing
Nice day for the fishing! Cute and relaxing game.
Fun little game loop you have here. Good little risk reward system ie eel doesn’t guarantee a sword fish, but has a chance for those big bucks. One button interaction adds to the chillness of the game.
I did however win by losing. I interacted with the great white, but did not catch it. Though that might be intended.
Congrats on the entry.
Do you mean that you lost the shark even though you won the fishing minigame? If so, that is intended. The Shark requires a special bait to catch.
No I lost the fishing mini game, but the shop guys said I caught it. Unless I miss read (very possible).
That is not intended. I may have to do some bug fixes after the voting period.
A very relaxing and chill game. Well done! I really like the fishing mechanic. The BGM and sound effects are also great.
really fun game, lovely graphics, a very fitting soundtrack, even catching the various fish was a fun challenge. I was hoping to keep the shark as a friend, I guess after beating the game I can always keep "some" of the shark (see what I did there?) The entire gameplay was very polished, I enjoyed playing this a lot, great job!
Very cute and charming, I like the style. Good job
What a beautiful little fishing game. The music and sfx are great, reminds me a bit of Dave the Diver music. Very nice!
Super fun one button game! I was confused by the lengthy fishing time but then it kicked off. Simple, familiar and fun mini game! well done!
Familiar and fun :) Great vibes and detail on the different sea critters!
This is a really clever idea for this game jam. Fishing has to be one of the most common side quests. And with the sole focus being the fish and the characters, they're allowed to have more presence on the screen and thus more pixels. That led to some really great sprite work!
Thanks for playing. I did consider adding movement around the world during the beginning phase of development. I probably would of had to trade-off the character focus & reduce the sprite size/quality if I went that direction.
Pretty fun game. I got stuck trying to catch a shark.
Thanks for playing. Was it too challenging, or was there a bug of some sort?
It was really challenging and then it said I had the wrong bait. It was probably me though, video game fishing is always tricky to me.
