Fun game! Difficulty felt right on, looks cool, and the upgrades seem pretty balanced. As others pointed out, I also had control issues where it seemed to snap back towards the mouse position when using keyboard, but otherwise great job!
Thank you! Yeah I winged a lot of the values as far as spawn rate, damage, etc and it seemed to work out ok :)
Hm. Yeah as far as the input, it takes whatever was last used, so the slightest mouse movement will send the ship flying towards cursor position. I could probably add a bit of a threshold to that. Also should probably add keys to do hack purchases w/ keyboard over mouse, so no mouse required at all, etc.
Yeah I love the flexibility of being able to switch between the two. I think if the cursor position is set to the current vehicle position as soon as there is mouse input, it would be seamless.
This is a very well made and a fun game. I like the visuals especial of the sun coming in. I also like the temporary upgrades that I get to select. I enjoy games like this which reminds me of Dead Cell. I really wanted there to be more stages to play. My advice is to let the player choose which input system to use like the mouse or the keyboard because I have a mouse the keeps jittering so it makes the earth move around constantly. Also if you give a boundary to the game then players wont be able to go out the playing area. Overall a very well made game with good music and really fun. Keep it up!
Yeah the input system was supposed to be intuitive and just take on whichever the player felt naturally to use. Didn't account for jittery mice ;p
Boundary also a thing I had on my backlog but just ran out of time and didn't feel like it was absolutely necessary.
I played your game as well the other day, very fun! We had a very similar approach to this jam. I plan to leave some more indepth feedback on your game page.
Hey, this was super fun! Gameplay was super smooth and satisfying. Please keep working on it and add endless mode or make it rogue-lite like. I don't know if it was a bug, but i had homing missles on every playthrough after finishing first game (which gave me a bit of that rogue-like feel :P).
I wish the difficulty would ramp up way more - on the other hand, I loved how OP some of the combinations were.
I had so many ideas for this but could only fit in so much in time. Rogue-like stuff was definitely on my radar, but figuring that system out would've added a bunch of time for sure.
The homing missiles were completely unintentional, I missed that bug. But hey, free rogue-like bonus I guess ;)
I had a bunch of thoughts for difficulty, but also cut corners there for time. More boss attacks, altering the asteroid spawning algorithm a bit, etc.
Maybe I will go back and add more. Had a blast making it

ooo good idea, yeah that would do it, easy to code too
