How does your game fit the theme?
S'urchin has 2 main concepts that fit the Lv. 99 Game Jam’s theme. Our first concept is breathing mechanics. To successfully complete the game, players must efficiently take a breath and subsequently hold their breath to traverse the underwater level. The more the player can control their breath, the longer they have to clear the level. Our second concept relates to the narrative of the game. Play as a free diver clearing out invasive sea urchins from the Great Southern Reef off the coast of Australia. These urchins cling to coral and kelp, destroying some of the largest underwater oxygen sources in the world. The removal of these urchins allows coral to regrow and for kelp forests to breathe once again.

Hi all, I liked the game, but guys, you should really put some instructions for players :D
For wandering souls: on first stage kinda smash space bar to gain O2, then second stage use WASD to move around and E to gather sea urchins, while diving you can press space bar again, when timed with visual queue it will stop you O2 from depletion for a moment.
All in all it's fairly easy to collect all urchins, the game could use some music, but visuals look pretty :)

Hiya! Thanks for the feedback! The instructions can be found in the description above the game, right above the comment section! We did not have time to add the instructions during the jam, but we will be updating the game once the jam is over to include instructions in game (and music too!). Hope you enjoyed!

Game has nice pixel art. Took me a while to figure out how to pump the oxygen, but I never figured out what to do when diving. It seemed like nothing was happening when I clicked the mouse. Maybe it was unfinished. It's been nice taking a dive in these jam games still. Thank you for the experience
