Have a question about LXD Jam 24? Or any other questions? Post them here.

Do you guys plan to make  a discord server in the future?

Submitted

I am also interested in this answer

Host

That's a great idea, but this is our first jam. So, maybe when we do this more often, we will create a discord server for our jams. Thanks for the suggestion!

It's maybe me but i ain't find the jam theme on the page it sitll say :

TO BE ANNOUNCED! It will be something related to why games are great learning experiences.

me too.

Host(+1)

It's being announced right now at the LXDCON'24 conference. It will be live in a few minutes.

OK, thanks.

Host

It's live!

Can i rate games before the rating period because i wont be able to rate games my time when the jam ends

Host

Hey RaynorDev, I'm not sure, but I'm going to look into it and will come back to you.

okay thanks because i live in Canada and when the game jam ends that's when i go to school

Host

We have changed the submission deadline to be earlier, so that everybody around the world can have a chance to rate other games. Thank you for the suggestion. Will keep this in mind for the next time.

Hello there! I'd like to work on a solo game submission, but would also be happy to lend my voice to other participant's projects if they're in need of some voice acting. Is it possible to contribute things like voice over without officially being a part of other teams and their submissions?

Feel free to offer your voice over in the Team Up community part! There you will find people looking for teams and maybe someone will reach out to you.

Submitted

Will do, thank you!

Hello! Is it possible to use or mention an alcohol in game?

Host

As long as it's not a commercial for some alcoholic drink or promoting misuse of alcohol it's fine I guess.

Submitted

I greatly enjoy the "I guess" at the end of the sentence.

Host

Thanks ParryMime, I guess :)

If I work with someone else, do I also need to submit the project or only my partner? Also, if only my partner should submit it, how would I rate other games?

Host

Hi SrPinwino, when you collaborate there should be one dedicated submittor/uploader who can then assign other contributors. Everybody who submits to the jam, as well as the contributors should be able to vote other games. I will check if I can find some Itch documentation to confirm this.

Host

Here's a video about how to add contributors to a game (page):

When you upload a game (page) the admin can assign other admins. For this jam we have set a maximum of 5 people per team. All contributors should be able to vote. Good luck!

Hi! do I uunderstand it correctly: if I don't see my game in the submission feed it didn't go through? I got confused with the submission process.

Host (1 edit)

Hi bapaka, oh no! I believe you have to make an itch.io page for your game and then submit that to LXD Jam 24. And maybe it takes a little while to show up? Can you tell me more about where you are confused? You can always take a look at Itch.io help or simply google it.

It's this one, I guess I was lost in between whether the draft was saved, published, or submitted. Anyways, it was a nice exercise!
Thank you for the suggested topic.

Host

Sorry you were not able to submit in time. I see that indeed the submission is closed now.

Host(+1)

Hi bapaka, I just found out that I can give you a late submission ink. I can do that if you send me an email at maarten @ shapers .nl

Thank you! I sent an email immediately after the failed submission, but I guess now it's def too late. Thank you for your help though! I will keep an eye on the next events and be more aware next time.

Hello. We didn't manage to upload our project in time, and we would like to know if it is possible to upload the project during the evaluation?

Submitted (1 edit)

It looks like they're still accepting submissions! Just might be tough to get reviews before that window closes:

https://itch.io/jam/lxdjam24/topic/3837523/congrats-to-everyone-who-submitted-a-...

The project submission button is missing :(

Host

Yes, the submission is closed now. I thought it was still open, but it isn't. This is the first jam we organize. Next time will keep this in mind. Sorry to hear that you didn't manage to submit, but I hope it was still a great learning experience.

Hi First sybmol, I just found out that I can give you a late submission ink. I can do that if you send me an email at maarten @ shapers .nl

Hi, can you tell me a bit about the judging? Is it exclusively based on the ratings? My submission only has one rating so I'm concerned it won't be considered.

Host

Hi Ben 2003, yes, there is no 'judging', it is indeed only based on ratings other jammers give you. We are unfortunately not an enormous game jam (like GMTK), so getting ratings is harder. Your game does seem very interesting, however it is less convenient to download a game than it is to play in browser. So, this might be an issue for your rating. You can ask the community to rate your game. Or you might consider adding a web build of your game to your itch page. Good luck!

Is there any new information about the rewards for the top 3 games?

Host

hi SrPinwino, sorry for the late response. Could you Please send an email to shapers that you are number 3 of the game jam? The contact information can be found on shapers.nl
